~Reindeer Safari~

Hay's P.O.V:

The next morning we were all up bright and early we started off with a lovely pancake, coffee and orange juice breakfast before we headed to the reindeer safari. It was two to a sleigh So Zee paired with Jay leaving Matt and I together. We got to meet and bond with our reindeer before the safari tour began. My reindeer's name was Olive. We got to feed the reindeer breakfast and helped Harness them up. We Got to do a quick run of the field to be sure we could control the reindeer. It was a blast. Matt kept making me laugh by giving Olive a strangely masculine voice. Voicing what he imagines she would say.

"Alright guys, board your sleigh's the safari tour will begin shortly." The tour guide called. I got to steer first.

Zee and Jay and their reindeer Gus came strolling next to us.

"You having fun?" She asked with rose cheeks and nose. It was bitterly cold to say the least but it didn't seem to be bothering anyone.

"Yes. You?"

"Yeah me and Gus here are the best of friends." she petted Gus and he let out a grunt.

"So I've been replaced?"

"Sorry looks like it." She laughed.

"Single file please ladies." The guide said and Zee had to take her place behind me,

We Stopped at the wilderness camp where the reindeer's got something to drink, eat and to rest a while, while us humans got hot cocoa heated over an open fire along with some marshmallows. The guide cooked up some sausages and when us girls sated we didn't eat meat they made us some pancakes.

Once We were all refuelled we head on back to the reindeer farm by an alternative route and once we get there we have to unharness the reindeer feed and water them then we are presented with our reindeer licences.

Next we headed back to the cabin to warm up and plan our next event. We all agreed to wait til Christmas eve which is on Saturday to visit Santa, tomorrow night was the northern lights safari so we agreed we would go to the village centre which had a huge frozen pond to ice skate on. I haven't been ice skating since I was a child and so I had a feeling I would be on my backside more than my feet.

"Right I've never been skating before so don't laugh if I fall okay?" Zee told us.

"Never?"I asked. She shook her head. "Don;t worry I've not been since I was a kid so I will probably be joining you." We laughed.

"Come on I'll make sure you are safe." Matt took my hand and led me on the ice where I re-enacted the scene when Bambi tried to stand for the first time. This caused Jay and Zee to laugh at me.

"Yeah?Come on this ice and show me how it's done then?" I said using Matt's strong arms to keep myself from landing on my ass.

"Watch and learn." Jay grinned and smoothly skated over to us and even threw in a twirl for good measure.

"Show off." I grumbled. "Come on Zee what you waiting for?" I called as Matt grabbed my hand and twirled me around, but I almost lost my footing and he had to catch me mid spin. "Holy cow that was scary."I laughed when I got steady on my feet again. I noticed Zee had still to make her way onto the ice. Jay breezed over and took her hand.

"I won't let you fall." He said and she took a deep breath causing a puff of smoke to linger in the cold early evening air. She took her first step and tested to see how steady she was before taking the second step.

"Now just pretend you are on roller skates." Jay told her and she slowly started to put one foot in front of the other and before she knew it she was skating. "I'm going to let go but I will catch you if you fall okay?" She nodded and Jay released his grip on her.

"Woo hoo Go Zee."

"Come on." Matt said and led me away to circle the rink, the entire time he kept a hold of my hand. It wasn't long until I got used to the ice again and it was like riding a bike.

"Call me sad if you will but you know you see these people in movies in ice rinks they skate and sing and dance. Indulge me please?" I asked Matt expecting him to laugh at me but instead he swooped in front of me skating backwards as he began to sing let it snow. I joined in as did everyone on the ice at that moment in time, it truly was like a scene from a Christmas movie. I loved it.

Dinnertime soon rolled around so we headed to the cafe from yesterday and ordered to go. We got a bottle of Jack and snuggled up on the couch and watched Elf. Today was a great day but I was really looking forward to tomorrow.
