Aurora's POV:"I could've broken my back trying to save you, but it wouldn't mean a thing to me as long as you were okay.", Brendon mentioned.
I chuckled and rolled my eyes, playfully. Brendon glanced at me from the steering wheel, a slight grin tugging at his lips as he shook his head in sarcastic disapproval.
"Hey, you got a problem with me?", He joked in a girlish tone-or some kind of accent I couldn't define.
"You know, I used to think you were alright...", I trailed off, keeping my eyes balanced at the heavy streetlights surrounding the darkness of 11pm.
"And what do you think about me now?", Brendon wondered, seeming genuinely concerned.
"Uh, I don't really know. Something different, though.", I claimed, unsurely.
He chuckled breathily, saying, "You're a piece of work, Aurora."
"One that you've grown so attached to.", I finished, sassily teasing him.
He's rolling his eyes mentally, no doubt.
"Don't be so sure...", Brendon jokes.
"What's that supposed to mean?", I argue.
"Whatever you want it to, sweetheart."
I laugh it off, our joke dying out. My head turns back to look out the window. At night our town has these lights that brim the town, keeping it alive. They lurk across tops of all the different shops and stores downtown, you're sure not to miss them.
"You look really pretty like that.", Brendon complimented.
I smiled and blushed, turning to look back at him, "Thank you."
"The way the light falls on your face, lighting it up. Y-you're eyes look really pretty, too.", he stuttered.
I smiled, placing my hand just above his knee, "You're sweet."
It was this time both our gazes averted. We'd been together for so long but we still get that shy/nervousness of a just-starting-relationship every once in a while. It's usually when we're alone, after a dinner. Someone will start sweetly complimenting another and blushes complete the room. It's nice, I have to say.
"Why's it taking us so long to get home?", I asked.
"Who says we're going home?", he counters, a mischievous grin beginning to form.
I strained from groaning, rolling my eyes, and complaining. Mainly because I was 22, but, you know.
"With you, no one really knows.", I admit, sighing.
Brendon chuckles and rubs a hand over my thigh, debating if I was complimenting him or not. I'm guessing he couldn't decide because all he said was, "That's for sure."
I leaned the back of my head against the seat and Brendon's motions stifled on my leg. He takes a shaky breath that seems to brush itself off with instant confidence and redemption. He's such a character.
"Tired?", Brendon asks.
"Nervous?", I respond.
We both shrug, knowingly, and from there go off to do our own things. I pick up my phone and immediately go on Twitter, like I've always seemed to do.
Something is up with Brendon.
Something weird is going on.
Something is going to happen.
But, what?
A/N: Sorry this one is so short. I would have made it longer but it had to end at this part for it to correlate with the next one. Also, I apologize for not updating on Thursday. That whole week I was putting it off because I wasn't in the mood and if i wasn't then (as i said on my message board which i've been frequently updating now) it wouldn't be passionate or that good. Plus, this isn't my job, this is for fun. Thank you guys so much for all you do. Love you.
