Lovely

Aurora POV:

I walk into the party, hand in hand with Brendon. Our heads turn against each other as we look across the room, eyeing out for an ounce of familiarity.

"Oh, there's Pete.", Brendon strung, loosening his grip on my hand.

"Pete!", he called louder, releasing my hand.

With his words it was as if he was dying to get away from me, the way he rushed over to Pete. Jerk.

"Love you, too.", I mumbled sarcastically, to myself.

But, I quickly found Joe, thinking about starting a conversation with him. We were... acquaintances. I wanted to change that.

Despite my social anxiety, I slid over to Joe and and greeted him. Me and him easily started talking and I feel like we could easily become friends. Which was great.

Me and Joe finished talking and said our "See you!"'s. I glanced over at Brendon who was talking to a tall girl. She was stunning.

She had a pale, porcelain face and these gorgeous brown eyes. Her blonde hair was curled so simply over her shoulders. Her lips were pink and full and even for her hair color, her eyebrows were dark and shaped perfectly. Brendon seemed pretty distracted with his conversation with her.

Was I jealous, you ask?

I mean, of multiple things.

The look Brendon had, and how gorgeous this woman was.

I sat down at a table to think a bit.

I was too nervous to walk up to them, but it would be too awkward to just watch from afar and complain to myself, acting like I was the main support beam of my life.

Wait.

Never mind.

I huffed as I stood and walked towards Brendon. Nope. She was walking towards me.

She.

She probably noticed me staring.

Goddamnit, Aurora.

As she was walking over, I kept my eyes locked on Brendon, who was watching her.

"Hi!", she enthusiastically greeted.

"Hi.", I waved.

"Linda.", she grinned, taking my hand.

"Aurora."

Her eyes widened.

"Simply the most gorgeous name ever."

I blushed and smiled.

She sat down at the table I was in, and I joined her.

"One hell of a boyfriend, you got there.", she smiled.

I nodded, gratefully.

"Yeah, he's pretty great." I assured, smiling brightly and looking up to Brendon.

He smiled back and I turned to Linda.

"So, who are you here with?", I asked.

"Spencer.", she stated.

I furrowed an eyebrow

"Really? How come I've never met you before?", I asked.

Linda blushed and looked away, "He asked me out tonight, for the first time."

"Awwe!", I gossiped.

"How adorable.", I gushed.

She chuckled and shrugged.

"You know, I have feeling we're gonna be good friends.", Linda admitted.

I nodded.

"Me too."

After an exchanged of phone numbers and several conversations later Brendon placed his hand atop mine, to forward my attention to him.

I looked up at him, smiling.

"Baby, let's go.", He said.

I nodded.

"Well, thanks so much, Linda. I had a great time. Stay gorgeous, sweetie. Bye!"

She smiled.

"Okay, you too! Call me sometime. Bye!"

I grabbed Brendon's hand and he led me out to his car.

I got in the passenger seat, while he was in the drivers.

We sat in silence for the moment. He didn't even start the car.

"Hm?", I asked him. 

"You weren't jealous, were you?", Brendon said.

I shrugged, "I guess a little, yeah."

He shook his head.

"Listen, Aurora. You never have to be jealous of anyone. You're everything she's not. You're... you're  everything."

I smiled and grabbed his hand.

"She was gorgeous, though. Wasn't she?", I babbled.

He had a puzzled look, seemed to be thinking.

"What?", I wondered.

He chuckled softly.

"I'm so in love with you other girls aren't even pretty anymore."

I laughed as he started driving.

"But she was drop-dead gorgeous.", I admitted.

"So are you.", Brendon defended.

"Not like her.", I stated.

He nodded, I shook my head.

"You are lovely."
