I'd Love To Forget What Happened

Aurora's POV:

After what happened with Brendon that night, I found myself letting it all out to Patrick, one of my closest and best friends. When he saw me and my puffy, swollen eyes lugging around some big suitcase, he pulled me into a hug and let me inside.

Which is why we've been such good friends for so many years. He's always so nice and supportive to me, and that's something mandatory for friends. He's ever let me down.

So, pretty much I've been temporarily surrounded by the sweetest person on Earth. Good to have a change, for once.

Now, fast forward three days,  Patrick is at the studio when there's a knock on the door. I'm wearing Patrick's grey shirt and short black gym shorts. I get up to answer the door, walking carefully.

The door creeps open and I see the person I least anticipated. Brendon. I sigh and let the door hang from the tips of my fingers.

"What do you want?", I spat.

He ran a hand through his hair.

"I want to show you something.", Brendon says, playing with his fingers.

"Hm?", I ask, emotionless.

"And I want to explain something to you.", He continues.

"Which is first?"

"Your pick."

"Show me.", I answer.

He nods, pulling out his phone and turning it on.

"Look, Brendon. I don't want to see some idolized messages between you and Ju-"

He has the nerve to cut me off, and he does it with his hand held up.

"No, it's not that."

Brendon looks up from his phone and flips it around, to show me the screen.

I mimed the words through his texts. It was the one he accidentally sent me.

I rolled my eyes, trying not to cry.

"Yeah, I got that message. Kinda why I'm here now."

"No, baby look. Look what I said at the end."

I have to choke back a sob when I say, "You said you loved her."

"No, no, no.",He coed, rubbing my back.

"Now, let's compare it to what I normally say to you."

He turns his phone back to him and swipes up a bit until he gets to another text he recently sent me.

Brendon: Hey, baby! So excited to get home. I've missed you all day. I love you endlessly, it's like insane. I ordered a coffee and I was so caught up in thinking about you that I accidentally ordered what you normally buy. Anyway, I really have to go, but I'll be home soon. Bye, gorgeous. I love you, enjoy your day.

I smiled and accepted the tears coming down.

"Compare the passion.", Brendon demanded, grinning slightly.

"It still doesn't make it okay what you did.", I conflicted, trying to break from the smile.

"It wasn't really up to me...", he mumbled.

"Brendon, what's going on?", I exhale.

He looks around, nervously.

"I can't tell you here. We have to get back home first."

I chuckle at his pathetic attempt to trick me into coming back home, placing a hand on his shoulder.
