Chapter 24 - The Double Date

Ashley's P.O.V.

It was the day after Hanna came here and we had decided to have the double date tonight. I stood in my room and watched my reflection in the mirror. I was wearing a blue denim skirt with buttons in the front and a red blouse with white flowers on. My hair was down and naturally curly and on my feet I had a pair of black ankle boots with a small and thich heel. Conor would be here in any minute to pick me up and even though it was only a fake date I was super nervous. My thoughts then got interrupted by a knock on the front door and my mom's voice saying hello to someone downstairs. It must be Conor. I quickly grabbed my small crossbody bag ans walked downstairs.

"Remember to bring her back at 10 pm son" My dad said.

"I will... woah hey Ash" Conor widened his eyes and said as he noticed me.

"Hey Conor" I said and blushed a little.

"You ready to go?" He asked.

"Yeah" I said and nodded.

I said bye to my parents and we sat down in Conor's parents car that he had borrowed. Conor started the engines and drove away from my house.

"You look amazing Ash! I-I mean you look great" He said.

"Thanks, you too" I said and smiled.

He parked the car in the centre of Redwood and we walked to Billy the squid. As we was outside Conor took my hand and I smiled even though I knew it didn't meant anything, it was all just acting. We pushed the door open and entered. Hanna and her boyfriend Noah was already there so we walked over to their booth and sat down. We greeted them and Billy walked over and took our orders. The whole dinner was really nice and Conor and Noah seemed to get along really well. After we finished our food and Conor and Noah paid for it we walked over to the cinema. Hanna had reserved tickets for a romantic drama movie called me before you. We got our tickets and payed for them before walking over to the refreshment counter. Me and Conor got a large popcorn to share and a coke each. Hanna and Noah got the same and we went into the theatre. I sat down between Hanna and Conor and the movie began.

Noah had put his arm around Hanna's shoulders and suddenly Conor did the same to me. I cuddled into him and smiled. I then focused on the movie and occasionally reached to the popcorn bowl to get some popcorn. Once when I did I felt that another hand was already in there. I quickly looked up at Conor and blushed a little. Conor just smiled and turned back to face the screen. The movie was really good and when it was over we said goodbye to Hanna and Noah before walking towards were we had parked the car.

"I actually really enjoyed tonight even though it all was fake" I said once I got into the car.

"Yeah me too..." Conor said and smiled.

The rest of the way we chatted about the movie and Conor said he and Noah really got along well and exchanged phone numbers so they could hang out sometime. When we arrived at my house Conor walked me to the door and we had a long hug before I went inside.

Abit later I was laying in my bed in my pjs. I smiled for myself and thought about the whole evening. I got loads of butterflies in my tummy and couldn't stop think about how much I liked playing his girlfriend. I made a promise to myself that I can't hide it anymore, I need to find out if he likes me the way like him or not. In the worst case we'll just stay friends and I can get over my crush faster if I know he doesn't like me in that way. I then fell asleep happier than ever.
