Chapter 28 - Small talk

Ashley's P.O.V.

The song ended and I slowly opened my eyes to find a pair of beautiful dark brown eyes staring at me. I couldn't help to stare back. We stood like that for about ten seconds and all I wanted was to lean in and kiss him, but I never dared too. The next song came on and it was a fast song. I slowly took away my hands from his neck and looked at my feet.

"So uhm... what now?" I asked and looked up shyly.

"I don't know.... or maybe... do you wanna go out for a bit? To take some air and maybe talk a bit?" Conor asked.

"Yeah, that sounds great" I said and smiled.

He then grabbed my hand and we walked outside together. We found a bench that was not far away from the gym and sat down on it.

"Gosh so nice, it was like a sauna in there" I said as we got out in the fresh air.

"Yeah it was... Uhm Ashley?" Conor said.

"Yeah?" I said.

"There's something I need to tell you..." He said.

"Oh, well I kinda has something to tell you too but you can start" I said.

"Okay well I.... really.... like...." He started.

My heart beated fast, is he about to say what I think he is about to say? That he likes me the way I like him?

"to be here with you" He then said.

"Me too... I mean I'm happy you asked me... even if we're only here as friends" I said a bit sad.

"Well of course we're here as friends... I mean that's what we are right?" He said.

"Oh yeah, we're friends, like it's not that I thought this was a date or anything" I blurted out.

Conor widened his eyes and it hit me what I just said. Oh dang it! I quickly looked away to hide my dark red cheeks. It went almost five minutes until anyone broke the awkward silence that I caused.

"Ash..." Conor slowly said and put his hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah..." I said and turned around but continued to look down and not at him.

"Did you wanted this to be a date?" He asked.

"No of course not I...." I said as I panicked and still looked down at my feet.

"Ashley, look at me and tell me the truth" He said and made me look at him by putting his finger under my chin and gently lifted it up.

"So now answer my question, did you wanted this to be a date?" Conor said again.

I looked into his eyes but couldn't get out a word. I heard Hanna's voice telling me to just tell him the truth but my body didn't seem to agree with what my brain wanted to do. All of a sudden Conor's face came closer to mine and before I could think about it he crashed his lips onto mine. My whole body was in shock and it took a minute until I actually realized what happened and I then closed my eyes and kissed him back. I don't know for how long we kissed but it felt like an eternity and I couldn't believe that I was actually kissing him and that he was the only who leaned in and kissed me first. Like he did the first move. Wait a sec, this means he likes me back right?

Ahh they finally kissed! :D I know you all have been waiting for that to happen so here you go! This story is actually about to come to an ending with only two chapters left :( Gosh it feels like yesterday I started writing this.

Also by the way, did anyone watched last nights episode? I did today online as I'm not from the US and the Cashley moments though! When Conor hugged her when he got scared of the ghost, when he wanted to kiss her (I know he was possessed by her great aunt but still)and then Ashley kissed him on his cheek! Ahh so happy, please get together already!
