Little Trip Part 1 Chapter 18

The next morning we got ready and Daniel met us at the rental. "You ready to find out if you're going to be a father?" I asked Daniel while Erik drove us to the airport. "Yeah, I really do hope I'm not but things don't really add up with it being anyone else." He said. "And Hayley know's you're coming?" I asked him. "Yes, Erik gave me her number at drivers meeting." He said. "Alright, just making sure I want you to be prepared." I told him. "I love how you care so much about me and Daniel." Erik said holding my hand. "Well it's what I'm good at." I replied almost giving away my secret. 

"That you are, you know exactly what to say and when to say it." He said kissing my hand. We got to the airport and boarded the plane. "I'll see you two at the track." Daniel said when we got our rentals. "Of course, if you need someone to talk to, we are here." I said before he left. We went to Erik's parents house and dropped our things off before we went to the hospital. "Hi Dave." I said when we got to his room. "Zoey, welcome I'm glad you could come with Erik this week." He said smiling. "Hi dad." Erik said from behind me. "Hey son." Dave replied. We talked until visiting hours were over so we went home. "Let's go out to eat." Erik said when we got to his house. "Ok, should we change or?" I asked trailing off. "Nah we can just go get fast food, is it alright if Brian comes with us?" He then ask. "Of course, let's go." I replied grabbing his hand. 

"Why can't you tell me what the secret is?" He asked. "Because it's better if we are on the plane or waiting to get on the plane." I told him. "Why?" He asked. "You aren't getting it out of me this easily, please babe, it's not that bad." I replied smiling at him. We got to the place and met with Brian then ate and hung out around town until we went home. "Let's watch a movie and cuddle." Erik said when we got to his house. "That sounds nice." I replied as we went to get changed and then found a movie we both wanted to watch. "Your dad was happy to see you." I said when we were waiting to play the movie. "He was happy to see you." Erik then replied. "Do you really think he's going to be ok?" I asked. "He's strong we all know he can fight this." He replied. 

"Yeah, he can." I replied. After a few movies we went to bed and the next day we spent the day in the hospital with Dave and I had my aunt bring who we said was my cousin to meet Dave and Erik. My aunt had Erik watch Landon as we talked. "Um, when are you telling Erik?" She asked me. "When we are going back to Charlotte, can my uncle or you watch him until we get back?" I asked. "I'm sorry but I don't think we can, and he really misses you." She said. "Then what do I do?" I asked. "Tell them now, and bring him to the track." She replied. "I guess I have to, bye Aunt Franny." I said hugging her. "Bye Zo." She said hugging me before leaving. "Listen, Erik Dave, Carol, Lindsey there's something I have to tell you." I said Landon walked up to me and held his arms for me. 

"Well?" Dave asked when I was just staring at Landon. "Uh, well Landon isn't my cousin." I told them. "Well then who is he?" Carol asked. "My son." I replied. "Uh, um, uh well is this the secret you wanted to tell me on our way home?" Erik asked. "Yeah." I replied as Landon looked at everyone and Erik put his head down. "Landon isn't just my son." I then spoke up. They all looked at me. "Remember in Martinsville 2014?" I asked Erik. "The party that went on, when all the little kids went home the big kids snuck in alcohol?" He asked. "Yeah, do you remember anything else about it?" I asked. "I brought some girl back to my RV." he said. His parents looked mad. "Yeah, well did you uh wake up alone?" I then asked. "Uh how did you know that?" He asked being his eyes went wide. "You were the girl." He said pointing at me. "And that means." He said trailing off. 

"Landon, actually meet daddy." I said looking at Landon and then I put him down. He walked up to Erik and hugged his legs. "Daddy." He said. "He should be." Dave said before I cut him off with "two December ninth." Erik picked up Landon. "Hey buddy, do you like racing?" He asked. "Yeah, vroom vroom." Landon replied smiling. "Any other secret children?" Lindsay asked me. "No,  Landon is my only child for now." I said. "This is why your uncle doesn't want me to get you pregnant." Erik said. 

"Yeah, this little guy is the reason for a lot of things." I said. "The media went crazy when you got pregnant." Erik said. "Well being the daughter of a NASCAR driver, the niece of a NASCAR driver, and the cousin of a NASCAR driver and on top of that they thought a NASCAR driver is most likely the father of my baby yeah the media went crazy." I said. "Well that would make anyone go crazy." Dave said. "My uncle got mad for a while and I had to live with my Aunt." I told them. "Is that why she has him when you're at the track?" Erik asked. "Yeah, we made a deal when I was living with her." I replied. "So can you bring him to the track now?" Erik then asked. "Of course." I replied smiling. "Daddy race." Landon pitched in. "You want to go watch daddy race?" I asked Landon. "Yeah." He said smiling at me. 

"Well then you can come with us." I told him. "Yes." He replied Erik put him down and he ran over to hug me. "You get to meet your first grandson." I then said to Dave. I brought Landon closer to Dave and Erik's family got to know everything about him. When visiting hours were over we went out to eat and then we met up with my Aunt who gave me his things and we went back to Erik's house.
