A Bad Dream Chapter 34

"Then come with me to the track, we can drive, my parents don't have to know." JH said to me. "But what if he doesn't want a kid?" I asked. "Then you can stay home and not parent him with anyone else." JH said. "Ok, I'll do it but your parents don't find out." I said before going to pack. We were on our way to the next race JH was racing in at Gateway Motorsport Park because John Hunter overheard that Erik would be racing. Shortly later we were on our way, Joe and Andrea just think I'm going to support JH, Joe decided to fly. "Do you know what you want to say?" He asked. "No, but I will think of something." I told him.

Joe let us leave the Wednesday before since it is an eleven hour trip and we had to stop somewhere along the way. The Thursday after we left we finally got to the track. "When should I do this?" I asked. "Go find his RV, I don't think he brought Hayley this weekend." He said and I realized he cheated on his girlfriend. "He cheated on her with me." I said. "You should still do this." JH said before making me leave the RV. I went to the garage area and found his then went to go ask a crew member where he was and if Hayley was with him. Which he was in his RV and Hayley could not come so he told me where the RV was and I left.

I knocked on the door before I decided to walk away. "Yeah?" He asked opening the door. "Oh, Zoey Nemechek." Erik said surprised to see me. "Actually it's Harris but can we uh talk it's really important." I said become more scared. "Yeah of course come on." He said before letting me in. "Sit down, would you like something to drink?" He asked. "I'm uh more comfy standing over here." I said staying by the door. "Ok what's up. "At uh at Martinsville the party we I uh woke up beside you." I told him. "Did we uh sleep together?" He asked. "You took my uh yeah and I'm pregnant." I told him.

"So we are going to be parents are you sure it's mine, while I was you first time so it has to be, unless you slept with someone else since it's been a while." He rambled. "Erik, I'm sure you are the father because I don't talk to many guys outside of the track and JH makes sure the guys around the track don't mess with me." I told him. "Makes sense, how far along are you?" He asked. "Four months, I'm going in to find out the gender soon." I told him. "I'm with Hayley, if she finds out about this child she'll break up with me." He said. "She doesn't have to know, I just didn't want you to not know about your child." I told him. "Really?" He asked.

"Yeah, you have a right to know if someone is having your child." I told him before turning towards the door. "Wait." He said before I turned around and saw him calling someone. "Hey Hayley, at Martinsville I got drunk at some party." He said before pausing. "I got John Hunter Nemechek's cousin pregnant." He then said before waiting for her reply. "She said I don't have to be in their life but I want to." He told her. "Fine, we can get each other's things back when I got back to Michigan." He said. "I'm so sorry." I said about the phone call. "Don't be I never liked her." He replied. "Oh, but it's going to be hard to find someone when you have a kid." I said. "I don't care I have you and the baby." He replied. "Yeah, you have us." I replied. "Would you like to go on a date with me?" He asked. "Uh, sure." I replied. "Well tonight I will pick you up at your cousin's RV." He replied. "Alright sounds good." I replied. I got ready for the date when it came near and we went out to eat then a couple days later it was race time which Erik didn't make it out of. "This is what my aunt and uncle warned me about." I said crying.

I then woke up really fast and called Erik not caring what time it was. "Hello?" I heard his voice. "Erik, oh Erik you're still here." I said. "Yeah baby I'm here just in Michigan with Landon." He said. "I had a dream and I told you about Landon when I was four months along with him and you were rambling about him being yours after I told you that you were my first time then you called Hayley and told her then she broke up with you and we went on a date then you, you didn't make it out of the race alive." I told him. "Darling, I wish I was there with you, but I am fine I'm here everything is ok." He told me. "I'll call you to talk to Landon in the afternoon." I told him.

"That sounds good baby, I wish you happy dreams now I love you." He told me. "I love you." I replied before we hung up. I then tried to go to bed but I couldn't so when the next morning came I was tired. "Zo, come on we have to go to the garage area." JH said at my door. "Woah Zo what happened?" He asked walking into my room more. "I had a dream and Erik ended up dead then I called him as soon as I woke up from that dream." I said. "Zoey." He said sitting beside me and hugged me. "I need to see that he's ok." I said. "I know I know, Zoey, sweetheart everyone will be ok, if you want you can just stay here, I'll text you before the race." JH said.

"I'll come, it's better who knows what happens if I'm here alone." I said. "Alright just remember my hauler is your hauler." He said. "Get ready, I'll text my dad about what happened." He said before leaving my room. I got ready for the day as fast I could so that JH was not late as he had practices.
