We sat in my cousin's pit box watching the trucks race Friday night, Erik has a fast car for this weekend. "Are you excited to see my dad again after Pocono?" Erik asked. "No drama this time now we know that I'm the only one having your babies when the time comes." I said nudging him. "Yeah thankfully." He replied wrapping an arm around me. John Hunter didn't win so we went to go congratulate the winner in victory lane. "Would your mom let me do laundry?" I asked Erik. "Most likely, then she'd move you out of the way and put someone else's laundry with yours and do it." He said. "She's a good mom." I said on our way back to my uncle.
"Do you have everything Zoey?" Joe asked as we finally found him. "Yeah, so I'll see you in a little while?" I asked hugging him. "Yeah of course." He replied. "You take care of her, and I don't want her pregnant when she comes back or you will have to answer to me." He said to Erik. "Thanks uncle Joe." I said smiling. "Just looking out for my niece, did you find out if that baby was yours?" He then asked. "It's not mine or my best friends." Erik told him. "Good, I didn't want a step grand baby already." He replied before they went home and we went back to the hotel.
The next morning we woke up and went to the track so Erik can do whatever he needed to do. That afternoon he went to drivers intros and I hung around pit road with his crew talking to them as they finished setting up. I felt someone grab my waist and pull me too them and I was confused until I realized it was Erik. "Hey baby." He said kissing my cheek. "Hey babe." I replied. "Ready for tonight?" He asked turning me so I was facing him. "Yeah, are you?" I asked. "Of course, this is my favourite thing to do besides being with you." He told me kissing me. "You are too sweet." I told him smiling at him. "It's hard not to when I'm around you." He said starting to smile.
Pre-race ceremonies started a little after and Erik wrapped his arm around me. "Good luck, I'll be cheering for you." I said before kissing him. "Thanks babe." He replied before he got into his car. "Hey, Zoey come here." Chris said. "Yeah?" I questioned walking over to the car. "I'm going to show you how to put up the window net." He told me before showing me. "Thank you Chris." I said smiling. "No problem Zoey, now let's get this race on the road." Chris said and we went to the pit box. Drivers started their engines after the command was given and they were racing.
"Erik hit the wall not bad we can fix any damage." Chris said out loud. "He would have been really disappointed if it could not have been fixed." I said. "Yeah no kidding." Chris replied. After the race, Erik ended up P31 because of the accident. "Baby, I know you didn't do very well but I'm still really really proud of you." I told him hugging him. "Thank you Zoey baby, I know we could have done better." He said. "Oil on the road was not your fault, your spotter could have told you there was oil before you got to the turn but other than that, there was nothing you could have done." I told him. "Yeah I know, I love how you blame the spotter for not telling me before I got by turn three." He said laughing at that. "Well he needs to see everything on the track at the same time, I'd think oil on the track would be something he'd look for." I replied shrugging.
We then went back to the hotel after Erik was done with everything. "Well that was a good race with a bad finish." Erik said laying on the bed. "Yup, there's always next weekend." I replied going to get changed. I came out and he changed then we cuddled into bed. "Goodnight, see you tomorrow." Erik said kissing the side of my head. "Goodnight babe." I replied before trying to fall asleep. The next morning we were on our way to his house so he could get ready for everything. "I love how my uncle just tells you to not get me pregnant." I said when we got inside his apartment. "I would if the guy my own daughter or niece i have to take care of started dating a guy who could have been a father at twenty." He replied.
"Yeah, it's kind of weird I kind of feel bad that she doesn't know who the baby's father is." I said. "Yeah me too, like if it wasn't us then who could she have slept with like the party we were talking about there were a lot of guys there but with me and Brian, Daniel was with us because he wanted to talk about some things with me." He said. "Could it be him, I mean she may have liked you when you started going out, but the money you were receiving after a while got to her and she just wanted to use you for money." I said. "Yeah, that's what I was thinking by the end, even without you I would have most likely ended it at some point around when I dod break up with her." He told me.
"So she shouldn't hate for for dating you?" I asked. "I don't think she would she's usually not like that but when it's money she can." He told me. "Ok, good, I wouldn't want her to hate me because she thought I did this on purpose, I've always thought of you that way but until our first kiss I wasn't thinking long term with actually being with you, if that makes sense." I said. "Oh, it made sense to me, you liked me but you didn't think we would be going out ever." He said. "Yeah, exactly." I replied.
