Chapter 14

Friday is forever, we belong together

So come on, come on,

And don't you say never

Alex

(Two weeks later)

God, time flew past quickly. It was the last period of the day already. And it was my favourite lesson - Music.

I've always had a passion for music ever since I was young. My inspirations were Blink-182, Green Day... Many other (punk) rock bands.

Jack and Rian shared the same passion with me, and that was the best thing because finally someone actually could relate to my taste in music.

Also. I've gotten more comfortable around Rian now, and Jacob and his bunch of friends didn't bother me much. Not when I'm heading to my classes super early, anyway. I figured out that they left their class late, so I could hurry up to my next class before I bump into them.

Back to topic. Music. The teacher taught us a couple of things before letting us request for songs so she could play it on Youtube. Some requested Queen, The Beatles, Michael Jackson... all were good. Then Jack asked for Blink-182, Rian asked for Fall Out Boy and I asked for Green Day. Needless to say that was my favourite lesson throughout the whole week.

When the lesson ended, I hesitatingly got out from my seat and the three of us left class together. Rian had to leave first, so we waved him good-bye before Jack and I walked home together. As we were walking towards the exit, I heard an awfully familiar voice call out. "Look, it's Mr. and Mrs. Gayskank!" (A really unoriginal nickname, in my opinion. My imaginary pet dog could do better.)

I frowned slightly and decided to ignore them. Jack glanced at me and grabbed my hand, giving it a quick and reassuring squeeze. I gave him a grateful smile and we continued our way. Obviously that angered the bunch of twits, because they yelled out to us, "Don't you fucking dare ignore us!"

I muttered to Jack, "We gonna run?"

He gave me a nod. "One,"

"You worthless fucks, stay where you are!"

"Two,"

"Three." The two of us hurriedly sprinted out of the school building, going past the sea of students and looking around before deciding to quickly head back towards my house. We ran and ran, stopping only when we were a couple of steps away from my home. I was panting slightly after all that running, and so was Jack. He flashed me a grin and a thumbs up and I returned the smile back. God, he can be so fucking cute.

"So uh. Wanna come over?" I asked before adding, "I mean, you don't have to but---"

Jack suddenly pressed his lips against mine lightly before pulling away. I blushed and looked away shyly, causing a chuckle to emit from him. "I'd love to, Lex," he said with a bright smile. I nodded and went towards the door, grabbing the keys from under the mat and unlocking the door before we entered.

-----

Jack and I dumped my bag on the sofa and I went to the dining room to eat my lunch while Jack sat with me at the table and watched as I ate my lunch.

"Aren't you hungry?" I said and bit into my burger, chewing slowly.

He shrugged. "Well, I am kinda," he muttered.

I gulped down the bit of burger before asking, "What do you wanna eat?"

"You," he replied cheekily and gave me a wink.

I rolled my eyes, a smile tugging at my lips. "Shut it."

Jack laughed. "I know you want it," he sang.

"Jesus, is that the new Robin Thicke song or something? It's horrible," I made a gagging noise before I burst out laughing.

He snickered and nodded. "I know!"

His stomach then growled and I chuckled. "In all seriousness though, what do you want to eat?"

"Uhh. I don't know. Can I have your fries?"

I nodded and pushed the fries towards him, passing him the packet of ketchup as well. "Thanks!"

After lunch, Jack and I headed to my room, grabbing our bags from the sofa along the way. I jumped onto my bed and rolled over, patting the space next to me. Jack grinned and lay down beside me. I glanced at the bag that lay on the floor next to me and reluctantly I got out all the homework given for the weekend. Jack groaned, but he did the same.

We lay on my bed, doing our homework together and discussing on how to do certain questions. Pretty boring really, but it was better doing it alone. We managed to complete it around 5pm, and we stuffed the worksheets into our schoolbags before we just lay on my bed. I let my mind wander, thinking about all the things that have happened. The first time we met, the kiss, and everything else...

Something kept playing repeatedly at the back of my head.

"Look, it's Mr. and Mrs. Gayskank!"

"Don't you fucking dare ignore us!"

"You worthless fucks, stay where you are!"

"Alex. Alex. Hey," Jack grabbed my hand and I snapped back into reality. I blinked and turned to look at him.

"Hm?"

"You...okay?"

I smiled and nodded. "Yeah... I guess I am," I mumbled.

He frowned. He definitely wasn't convinced. "Was it because of earlier? Jacob and... y'know."

I sighed and nodded slowly. "Do you think they know about it? The kissing and all that..."

Jack shook his head. "Doubt so. And don't worry, Lex," he gave my hand a squeeze and smiled, "I'll protect you."

I snickered. "Alright, I think we're going to be pretty fucked tomorrow, but I'll have you to be my knight in shining armour," I said and he laughed.

"Sure, my pretty little princess," he winked and I nudged him playfully.

He pressed his body against mine for warmth before suddenly my mum burst into the room. "Sweetie why is there--"

She noticed that Jack and I were cuddling and she let out a giggle as we scrambled to sit up straight on my bed. "Did you guys just... do the do?" she whispered the last part out.

Jack raised a brow amusedly. "Muuuuum!" I protested, flushing slightly at her remark. God, parents can be so embarrassing sometimes. "No!" Jack burst out laughing at my reaction and my mum giggled again.

"Are you guys official already, hm?"

I was about to reply with a 'no' when Jack said, "Well we're planning a date on Sunday, aren't we, 'Lex?" he said with a wink. Oh my god, we're going to be official? I thought to myself and felt a smile creep up my lips. My mum chuckled.

"Well, I'll leave you two lovebirds alone, then," she said in a sing-song voice and closed the door to my room shut.

I ran my hand through my hair before sighing. "Your mum's great," he told me and I chuckled before nodding in agreement.

"So... the date thing," I muttered and he gave me a grin.

"I'll let you know tomorrow, okay? I have to go home for dinner now. See you later, Lex." I let out an 'aww' of disappointment.

"Can't you stay longer?"

He shook his head. "Parents want me to eat with them, but I'll be back later tonight 'kay?"

My eyes lit up at that. "Will you really?"

Jack nodded firmly. "Promise."

"I'll text you then," I said as he headed towards the door. He grinned and waved before he left.
