Chapter 17
Jack
"You haven't told you parents about what?" Alex pressed on.
"My sexuality, and everything..." I mumbled and looked down on the carpet guiltily. I felt like shit. I promised him a lot of things, and yet...
I suddenly felt something soft against my cheeks and I looked up to see him kissing me gently. Alex put his hands and the side of my face and gazed into my eyes. I stared back into those beautiful brown orbs before my sight fell on his lips, the guilt inside me overwhelmed by a feeling of desire. I bit down on my lip and fought that desire, fixing my gaze back into his eyes.
"Listen, Jack. Everything's gonna go smoothly, okay?" He flashed me a toothy grin and I couldn't help but return one back.
"Are you coming with me?" I asked, hoping that he would. Alex nodded, slipping his hand into mine, our fingers interlocking. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze, "Always."
The two of us decided to do so now, since my parents were home. We'll have to do it one way or another anyway, so it was best to do so as quickly as we could.
Alex and I reached my front door. I turned to look at him uncertainly before he gave me a smile that made my stomach flutter slightly. I stared at the door before releasing my grip, Alex deciding to take a step back and motioning me to go on. I took in a deep breath and knocked on the door.
I heard the sound of keys jingling and the door opened to reveal a male figure - my dad. "Brought your pal along, eh?" he said, glancing over my shoulder at Alex and I nodded. He moved way to let the two of us enter.
I watched, slightly nervously, as my father welcomed Alex in and they introduced themselves to each other.
"I'm Alex," Alex said and extended a hand. My father took it and shook it rather firmly.
"My boy has been talking about you non-stop ever since he met you," he said with a grin and I flushed scarlet. "You guys best pals or somethin'?"
I glanced nervously at Alex and he gave me a reassuring smile. I took a deep breath. "Actually... We're... I'm... We're in a relationship," I mumbled.
My father stared at Alex, then at me, and burst into fits of laughter. I raised a brow and he slapped Alex on the back, causing him to flinch slightly and I frowned. My dad must've noticed because his face morphed to a serious look. "You weren't joking?"
I nodded. My father walked towards me. "We need to talk."
I frowned and looked over at Alex nervously. He seemed frightened and sad. I nodded glumly before following my dad to the kitchen, leaving Alex lingering around the living room anticipating what was going to happen next.
I really hope things go well.
-----My father and I entered the kitchen and my mum was also present there. She looked up from her cooking and smiled. "Hello, sweetie!" she exclaimed.
I gave her a smile in return, while my dad walked towards her and whispered something into her ear. I watched sadly as her smile turned into a frown. I couldn't hold it in anymore.
"I really love Alex okay? He's really nice to me and I love him genuinely with all my fucking heart---"
"You're just confused, honey," my mother said with what seemed to be a forced smile imprinted on her face.
"I'm not confused!" I growled.
My father had the same fake smile on his face. He put an arm around me. "Son, I think you need to stay away from him for awhile."
My eyes widened and I moved away from him. "What? Why?" I exclaimed loudly.
He let out a defeated sigh. "Just... do as I say. I'm your father, and you're going to listen to me. I'm going to call your school and make sure the two of you are separated. And if I find out that you're texting him, I'm taking back the phone. Now, no interaction with him at all," he said sternly and I frowned.
"No."
"Sweetie-"
"No." I stormed out of the kitchen, but my father grabbed me by the arm.
"Go to your room. Now," he said with a scowl. I fought back the tears that threatened to spill down my cheeks.
"Can I at least speak to him? Please?" I whispered and he sighed before nodding, releasing his grasp. I went towards Alex, who was standing by the doorway nervously.
"Hey, how's it going? Was it good?" he asked, flashing me a toothy grin. I bit down on my lip and threw my arms around him, pulling him in for a hug. I broke out into a sob and he patted my back softly.
"Hey, hey... no need to cry. It's alright," Alex murmured into my ear soothingly.
"I- I can't... my dad's going to call the school and everything and we are going to be separated, and I can't text you either--"
Alex whispered, "Look. I'm going to come over every night, so make sure you stay awake. I'll always be by your side, alright?"
I pulled away from the hug and mumbled, "Really?"
He nodded and grinned. "Really really."
Suddenly, I felt my dad grab my shoulder. "It's time for you to leave," he said coldly to Alex.
Alex nodded, waving good-bye to me before he left. I watched as his figure slowly disappeared into the distance sadly.
I loved Alex. I really did.
But...
Why can't my parents understand?
------------
A/N: Horribly written chapter. This is kind of a 'filler' thing because I got lazier.
I promise I'll make up for it for the next chapter! Piiiinky promise. So stay tuned. I love y'all.
