Chapter 11

A year later....

Kelly and Erin have been on and off for the past year. Justin and Olive have been enjoying life with their little one and Hank is happy being a grandfather.

" hey good morning." I said as jay came down the stairs
" good morning beautiful." He said kissing my head
" you have work today?"
" we both do. Are you riding with me or in your car."
" your car I guess."
His phone bleeped.
" ya know what hales I totally forgot. You gotta take your car today cause I have to do something after work but I'll meet you for dinner?"
" yeah am I ordering out or cooking?"
" I'll cook I'll probably be home before you anyway."
" okay sounds good. Listen I'm gonna go take a shower so I'll see you there."
" yeah I'm gonna get going. See you love you." He said and was out the door.
He never cooks. Why now. I thought

At the station...

When I got there Erin and jay and Hank were talking in his office. I knocked on the door.
" Haley don't you know when I'm talking to someone to wait." Hank said
" sorry... somebody's waiting for you downstairs. Platt wanted me to tell you." I said and walked away. Jays phone was on his desk.
A text from justin.
From Justin:

Sounds great bro I'll meet you there. Text me when you're out.

Today is such a weird day. I thought and got to work. Voight when downstairs.
" Erin." I said and she came over
" hey what's up?"
" what's going on? What was that?"
" oh nothing"
" Erin.."
" he wanted to talk to us about partnership. Some days it'll be the three of us and sometimes I'll ride with him."
" that's it?"
" yeah what else would there be?"

It was the end of our shift but Erin asked me to help her with paperwork so I stayed behind. Everybody left with jay which was a little weird but I didn't feel like getting into it. An hour later Erin got a text from jay. I looked at it.
From Jay:

I'm home. Everything went great. She'll love it.

It's just dinner. I thought. Erin came in the room.
" jay texted you."
" oh. Good. My friend jay he's trying to get this apartment his girlfriend wants and apparently he got it."
" that's not my jay?"
" no by the way where did jay go?"
" I don't know everyone's been acting weird all day including you."
Then my phone went off

From jay:

Dinners almost done. Are you coming home soon?

" speaking of jay. I gotta go."
" yeah we're done here. Thanks for your help."
" anytime."

At the Apartment....

I opened the door and everybody was in my apartment. I mean everybody. Hank, Erin, justin, Olive, the baby, Matt, gabby, kelly, burgess, Alvin, Kim, Kevin, everybody.
" what is everybody doing here?" I asked
" jay invited us." Adam said
I looked at jay
" Erin how did you get here faster than I did you left after me."
" fast car."
" come on babe come sit." Jay said and I sat down next to him. The guys cleaned off the table and brought out desert.
" so how was work?" Justin asked
"Good for some things done. How are you guys?" I asked
" barely sleeping but we're alright." We laughed.
" I'll be right back." Jay said and walked upstairs.
" I'm gonna see what's going on." I said and I followed him up. Little did I know everyone was following me. When I walked into the room jay was on one knee.
" jay..." I said about to cry
" Haley I have loved you since the day I met you. It broke my heart when you moved to cincinatti but the moment you came back it was like nothing had changed. I never want you to leave again at least not without me. I love you hales and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So, Haley Cassandra Severide will you marry me?" He asked. I was crying.
" yes. Yes of course I will a million times yes." I said and then he put the ring on my finger and we kissed and everyone congratulated us.
" I'm so happy for you hales." Kelly said
" love you hales I'm happy for you." Matt said
" I'm gonna wear such a pretty dress at your wedding but not as pretty as you." Gabby said hugging me
" hales your my little sis I couldn't be happier!" Erin said
"Yeah "my friend jay who's looking for an apartment" my ass." I mocked laughing
" congrats hales we love ya." Olive said
" that's my little sis. I'm so happy you're happy. Love you hales. I'm proud of you." Justin said
" well there goes the little bird out of the nest. I'm so proud of you Haley you've grown into a fine young lady. I love you haley." Hank said
" congrats Haley so happy for you." Everyone else said
I was engaged and happy to be spending the rest of my life with him.
