Chapter 32

" okay p so you're gonna hang out with your mom today okay? But I and everyone else will be right there if you need us." I said walking in with her
" okay daddy." She said and lifted her onto the platt's desk.
" well good morning chuckles, chuckles jr." platt said
" what do we say P?"
" good morning Trudy Platt." She said and i laughed
" buzz me upstairs please."
" can't open the door chuckles?"
" hands full." I said and carried P up the stairs. When I got there everybody said hello.
Haley bent down.
" it's alright P go ahead." I said and she walked over there and Haley reached for a hug and P looked at me the entire time.
" Peyton look what I got you you're very own badge." Haley said and put it around her neck and P's eyes lit up
" Daddy look what she gave me look what Haley gave me!" She cheered
You could see the expression change in her face.
" it's gonna take some time haley. You've been gone five years."

" I know." she said.

"Listen, we have been invited to the firehouse for their 50th anniversary party and I said we would help out since they are always there for us even in recent events." Hank said looking between me and my family "So, we are going to head over there now and help them set up. Jay, you and P are gonna ride with me and erin."

"copy that searg." I said and we all started walking out. " P come on we gotta get goin." I said

" dad can I ride with Haley?" she asked. I didn't know what to say. What do you tell your five year old daughter when she asks if she can ride with her mother who was invisibile for five years of her life.

" But P, I thought we had a date to sing christmas carols in the car this morning." Erin said pouting.  P's eyes lit up and turned towards Haley.

"I'm sorry H, I did promise her." P said and ran towards Erin.

" It's alright P, all loyal girls keep their promises." Haley said and she walked towards me.

" do me a favor Haley, don't call my daughter P.  You don't know her that well."

" Jay, she's my daughter too."

" You want back into our lives? Don't cross me Haley." I said and got into the car.

"You sure about this whole thing?" Voight asked me

 " No." I said and looked at him. We pulled up to the firehouse and the guys were outside.

" UNCLE KELLY!" P yelled and ran into his arms

"Theres my favorite girl!" he cheered back and erin gave him a look as to say "Oh really?"

"hey babe." Kelly said

" wheres our son?"  Erin asked

" With Gabby playing on the ambulance." he said and she headed towards the ambulance.

" You know Peyton," Haley said kneeling to her height " your uncle Kelly is actually my brother."

She had a surprised look on her face.

"Is that true Uncle Kelly?" she asked him and he looked at me.

" Yeah P, but come on let's go see what your cousin and aunt are doing." he said and walked away with peyton.

 " Don't do that." I said

"do what?"

"tell my daughter things I may not want her to know."

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD JAY SHE'S MY DAUGHTER TOO AND I AM REALLY TRYING HERE TO PROVE TO YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT I AM BACK BUT IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH AND IF YOU DON'T GIVE ME ROOM TO BREATHE THAN I CAN'T DO THIS I CAN'T. YOU ARE DRIVING ME AWAY ON PURPOSE AND YOU DON'T REALIZE I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE. YOU AND ME? THAT MAY NOT WORK IN THE END BUT THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS RIGHT NOW IS THAT I GET BACK INTO THAT LITTLE GIRL'S LIFE AND THEN IT'LL BE A BONUS IF I GOT BACK INTO YOURS. IN ORDER FOR ME TO DO THAT YOU NEED TO STOP STEPPING ON MY TOES!" she yelled. Everybody was looking. She walked away and I just stood there.

"Hey, come on. We're having a beer." Kelly said with the rest of the guys right behind him.
