Nobody POV:

Today was the day. Everybody gathered around the church to say a prayer for the kids and of course for Jay and Haley. A blown up picture of them was in front of the room. You could hear a pin drop. Nobody dared to speak a word. Then all of the radios went off.
" dispatch to all units of the Chicago police department respond to the 21st district for the send off of Detective Haley Severide Halstead."
Everybody hopped into their cars and drove to the district. Jay and Haley's car was awaiting out front. The fire department, police and EMTs were all there.
" you guys are going to want to see this." Erin said to the kids.
" In honor of them. Detective Jay Halstead and Haley Severide-Halstead Unit 5102. EOW 6/23/16 and 3/12/21. Rest In Peace." Peyton read aloud. " thank you guys." She said with tears streaming down her face.
" Peyton. You're going to be driving this car one day. They want you to drive it out of here. You're hired at the 21st district once school is over and you graduate from the police academy." Hank said and she gave him a hug. Her boyfriend was a cop. He worked for the 21st district. Everybody was lined up.
" ATTEND HUT!" Platt yelled and everyone stood straight.
" PRESENT ARMS!" She yelled and everyone saluted.
The radios went off. " dispatch to unit 5102 Detective Haley Halstead." A couple seconds went by " Dispatch to unit 5102 Haley Halstead." Another couple seconds went by. "last call to unit 5102 Detective Haley Halstead no need to respond thank you for your services." Then the radio went off again. "Dispatch to all units of the Chicago Police Department In honor of them, unit 5102 Detective Jay Halstead and Detective Haley Severide- Halstead. The Unit 5102 is forever out of service in respect for them. Their daughter Peyton Halstead will reactivate 5102 once graduated from the academy and joined by the Chicago police department district 21. Until then thank you to the officers who take their lives to risk others. Rest easy Jay and Haley. Forever in chicagos hearts." Peyton and her siblings got in the car. Peyton looked at everyone and then at the district where her parents names were now on the wall of fallen officers. She put her hand over their names engraved in the car and got in. She slowly drove off. They were going to be okay. They're the halsteads. The strongest people I've ever known. As for us, we have a lot of shoes to fill.
