(Noah's P.O.V)
"Is someone going to explain what the hell just happened?!", Stephanie yelled, racing to her fiancé and clutching him close.
"Why don't you ask her?", Dexter replied, shooting me a glare from across the room. I was still is a deep state of shock to understand the full consequences of my actions.
My heart is beating so fast I could hear it clearly. This can't be real. What I've just seen was nothing more than an illusion. Everything was so different. So meticulously planned out. Now, I can't see the next moments. Everything I've ever had has vanished. To say I was void of any sane thoughts would be an understand.
"Blow me, shithead", I retorted back, clearly not in the mood to play the blame game. Scratches and bruises aplenty won't enough to hold me back. But the sheer brutality and shock of the night caught me off guard when I was least expecting it. I knew the fallout was going to be huge, but I expect it to blow up in my face, literally.
"Is this what you wanted? Is this the fallout you wanted to bite us in the ass?", Austin began his usual level berating.
"What's the matter, doc? Can't handle your own heat?", I barked back, measuring up to him before Christian pulls me back.
"Everyone's need to take a breather right now.....", he orders before Dexter intervenes again.
"Lighting up a dead guy just to send a message? That's just lazy", he spat back in my face.
"Lazy? I'm sorry. Was I the one phoning it in early in Maine? Or am I being impartial?", I called him out, ignoring Christian's calm plea. How he was the one to keep his calm over everyone was surprising. I expected the fallout from Christian to be a whole hell of a lot worse than anyone else.
"What you need is a one way ticket to an A.A meeting because you're completely out of control!", he counters.
"I hope you know you're about as useless to this team as a screen door on a submarine. And I hope you fucking drown", I scoffed, matching him word for word. Because I was so damn tired of hearing him belittle every little thing I do.
"Open your eyes, Noah! How many more bodies do you want lying on the floor before you realize what needs to be done? How much more blood do you want spilled? Can't you see what your actions cost us?", Austin continued. But I simply just roll my eyes and scoffed.
"She's right. You're way too unpredictable...", he points out in more toned down voice. And almost instantaneously, I knew what he meant by that.
"Everyone's nerves are fried, I get it. But we can't unravel here. You need to cool off", Christian tries again to get me settled, but nothing would settle for what I was about to say.
"She?", I nodded, a crazed smile appearing between my lips.
"...That's not what I meant...", he tried to plea with me. But I already understood what he meant.
"Nuh I know exactly what you meant. I see what's going on here". I pressed my tongue to corners of my mouth, licking away the iron tang of blood that began to pool. I look around and stare at the group of whom I thought were soldiers! And almost on queue, that little snake came walking in, leaning against the wall with the strongest poker face I've seen on her.
"I'll be the first to admit I've got a few screws loose but one I thing I know about myself is that nobody tells me what to do", I admitted harshly. "So if none of you wanted to pull the trigger, why did you?", I questioned, leaving my breathless.
"Cause as far as I'm concerned, you all rattled the same amount of bullets in his ass as me! And you mean to tell me that a bunch of buff guys couldn't work up the courage to tell me no to my face?".
