"Sorry boys, this one's mine!". Hearing the sound of his excited voice does something to me. After a crappy day, all I wanted was to be with Christian again, with Raeven's back in my arms.
"I smelt that ass whooping from a mile away, Sebastian", I joked, hiding the beet bottle near the side of the entrance before I suffer another intervention from Austin. "You gotta step your game up, princess", I send innocently towards him.
"Hey", I smiled down at Christian, massaging my hands over his immensely muscular shoulders. This man is truly a freak of nature. It leaves me questioning how that chair is supporting his bulky weight. His biceps alone are bigger than my thighs. He leans back and steals a kiss from my lips.
"You good?", he asked. Not wanting to break any news to him just yet, I give him convincing nod before walking over to Raeven, sitting in Stephanie's arms. I felt his unassured gaze trailing behind me. The man knows me too well.
My face immediately lights up when I see Raeven. This kid have me a hope and purpose in a time when I needed it. Everytime I look at him is a surreal moment I will cherish forever. It's yet to dawn on me that after years of bad luck, I was blessed with such a miracle baby like Raeven.
Picking him up, I begin to plant a series of kisses around his face, squishing him closer towards me. His adorable giggles make me swoon even more than before. His laughter was just so infectious.
"That boy is too well-behaved to be your son...", Stephanie mentions, and boy was it hard to disagree with that.
"I don't know if he's well-behaved or just plain scared of parents", Austin spoke up from behind me.
"Poker ain't your style?" I asked, not wanting another alcohol intervention.
"More of a Russian roulette type of guy. Coke? With a dash of tequila?", his moods swifts to a dark humorous type. He's quick to smell the liquor store I drank to wash down that shit sandwich after tonight.
"Tequila....with a dash of coke".
He grins a sinister laugh in defeat. "Close", I consolidated. As I reveled in my moment, his beeper went off. Possibly something about the test results.
"Getting smarter with your drinks these days?", he replies smugly, doing his very least to hide sarcasm.
"Getting a little too big for that doctors coat?", I clapped back. With Raeven in my arms, I walk back over to the paused poker game going on. "What's with the blue steel on her face...", I asked Christian, sitting on his lap as he eats....I don't know what exactly he was eating, but it smelt great.
"Hotel reservation fell through. She wasn't planning on staying long until we pulled that Intel in East L.A.", he replies, stuffing him face with fries.
"Running around like a headless chicken.", I mimicked her words from earlier this week. "What are you eating? ", I pressured, leaning over to get a better look at his plate.
"It's Poutin. Try it", he replies, and I'm left confused, partly from his sexy accent.
"Come again?". He pushes the plate over to me after seeing my confused face. "Why you gotta bring Russian prime ministers into this?", I joked.
"Nice set up, Chris Rock. Now try it....", he begged. Rolling my eyes, I take the fork from his grip, stab one of the fries and chewed on it. My face immediately turns blank and they're all eager for my verdict.
"Well? What do you think?". I glance over at Aries, who seemed the most excited and ready for me accept whatever this is with open arms.
"I think I need burbon to wash that shit down", I shrugged, on the verge of coughing. Little did I expect that kind of reactions I would get from a table of Canadians. They argue dramatically with me, one yelling on top of the other, like I'd just spat of their flag in the middle of a Montreal street.
