"I love her"

The words stung, but Normani knew it was the truth. Lauren did love Lucy, truly and that's why it hurt so bad. Lauren wasn't just sleeping around with people like Normani was, what her and Lucy had was real.

Normani looked at Lauren as she stood there with her hand still covering her mouth. She saw how much what just happened pained her.

This was it, Lauren was choosing Lucy and shit.. it hurt like hell.

They both stood there in the ark hallway trying to fight back tears. Normani was always better and holding in her gears than Lauren was. And that was the case right now, after a blink a few years ran down Laurens cheeks seeing Normani's facing, knowing she was hurting her.

"Mani.." She murmured through her hoarse voice stepping closer, reaching her hands out timidly. She didn't know if Normani even wanted her to touch her right now. Who kisses the shit out of someone just to say that they're in love with someone else?

But what was going through Normani's mind was accepting. Accepting what was bound to happen. This was bound to happen.

She could blame it on herself, Lauren, Trevor or Lucy. But it happened, two years ago they called it a quits and it wasn't fair for her to ask lauren to drop everything because she finally figured out that it was her that she wanted.

It wasn't fair for Normani to want Lauren to be in love with her still, after two years of trying not to be. She didn't know if Lauren was still in love with her but she knew she was in love with Lucy.

It hurt. Deep in her core, it hurt bad. But she understood.

"Mani" Lauren whispered again "This -this doesn't mean I don't care about you. I do. I love you.. It's just I -I love her"

There it was. Answering Normani's question that she didn't even have to ask. She did love Lucy more than her.

She reached her hands up to grab at Laurens face to cease her crying "I get it and I'm so sorry I took you for granted" she paused as suddenly talking became the hardest thing to do, because of what she was about to say "I know you love her, I get it. We just.. We weren't good in that way"

She looked at the watering green eyes and ran her hand through Laurens hair. She felt the tear finally fall as she pulled Lauren in to hold her.

"We're good"

"We're good?" Lauren questioned.

"Yes" the brown girl forced a smile, hiding how she really felt "Now come on its Christmas Eve, I don't want to be crying right now"

In all honesty she couldn't believe Lauren chose Lucy over her. But what was worst was she didn't know the day where Lauren was truly no longer hers would hurt so bad.

She just wanted her to fight.

"WAKE YALL ASSES UP!!!" Dinah yelled banging two pans together walking around the entire apartment "GET UPPPPPP"

"OH MY GOD DINAH" Normani yelled burrying her head into her pillow.

She heard chuckling from the other side of the room so she lifted her head with a scowl "Get your fucking girlfriend it's five am"
