Chapter 25

Just like that, Ateneo was eliminated at the V league. Hindi alam ng ilan, sinadya ito ng management. Nag patalo talaga ang team.

They joined the league just because coach Tai wanted to asses the girls as a team. Now that he's done he doesn't want to let his first stringers to play in the quarter finals.

Instead, they are working their ass off inside the BEG.

Jia is not focused on her work. Kaya naman nag aalala si Bea.

Pag tatanungin niya ito, Jia surprisingly just snapped Bea.

Hinayaan na ni Bea at inisip na baka wala lang sa mood si Jia.

"May pupuntahan lang ako" Matigas na sabi ni Jia.

"Huh? Saan? Gusto mo ba samahan kita?"

Jia shakes her head "Kaya ko na. Umuwi ka na lang at magpahinga"

"Sure ka ba? Okay ka lang ba talaga?" Sunod sunod na tanong ni Bea.

"Bakit ba ang kulit mo?! Oo nga diba?!" Napasigaw na si Jia sa pagkakataong ito na nagpakuha ng atensyon ng buong team.

Huminga ng malalim si Jia. "Itetext na lang kita kapag nasa dorm na ako"

Hindi na niya hinintay pa ang sagot ng isa at umalis na.

The following days was like that. Jia became distant with everyone even to her best friend. Whenever they'll ask Jia, she will just snap them off or worse, shout at them.

"That is not the Jia I know" Bulong ni Mich.

"So do I" Sagot ni Dennise.

"What happened to her?" Tanong ni Ly. They are looking at Jia's car who just speed away from them. And again, she just snapped Mich who asked if she's okay.

"Ever since that game, nagbago na siya" Malungkot na sabi ni Bea. "Do you think it is because of Ej? Na realize niya ba na ayaw niyang ipaglaban kung anong meron kami?"

Ly look at Ella who's happily eating her food. She's the love expert of the team.

"Hindi yun sa ganun" Ella cough. Kaka lunok niya lang ng kinakain niyang chips. "Baka may problema yun, natanong mo na ba?"

"Ate Ella, nasan ka ng mga naka raang linggo? She shouts at everyone who will ask her about that thing. Kahit sila Maddie ay natatakot ng mag tanong sakanya ano" Sagot ni Michelle para kay Bea.

Ella nodded "If that's so. We all know Jia, hindi siya yan, baka may something lang talaga, tignan mo naman, nag make up na siya, nagpapa ganda lang yan for Bea, unless.."

Hindi na niya naituloy ang kanyang sasabihin dahil kung ano man ang kanyang naiisip ay ayaw niyang sabihin pa.

"Unless what?" Bea asked and look at them.

"No, it's ridiculous. Jia can't do that" Ella said and smile. "Wag mo na isipin yun"

Bea shake her head. "Third party? May iba na siya?" She started to tear up. "That's what I am thinking"

"She can't do that! Kilala ko siya, kahit kay Mig.." Hindi naituloy ni Mich ang kanyang sasabihin at napatingin na lang sa mga ate niya. "Paano kung si Miguel?"

"Mich, that's impossible, break na sila diba? Miguel broke up with Jia before.." Ly stopped herself. She knows her reasons are not strong enough to be argumentative.

"Well, you know, I hate to do this or even say this, but there's one way to find out" Ella said.

Bea look at her sadly. She nodded and look at Jia's car in the distant. "Siguro nga"

"Teka, wala pang sinasabi si ate Ella, nagets mo na kagad Bea?" Tanong ni Ly.

"I think it's the only way to find out" Sagot ni Bea.

"And that is?" Dennise asked with her eyebrows raised.

Ella answered for Bea "Follow her"

Bea texted Jia. She never do this, for the past two weeks since Jia snapped everyone. Ayaw niya kasing mag away pa sila.

Hindi na nga sila nakaka pag usap eh mag aaway pa sila. Masyadong masakit iyon para kay Bea.

Jia, let's eat this lunch! 😊

As expected, Jia's reply is like that. Ganyan din ang reply ni Jia kay Bea for the past few weeks everytime na aayain siya ni Bea.

Can't. I have school works.

"Sabi na eh" Mich said. They are inside Ly's newly bought car.

Hindi pa alam ng iba na kotse ito ni Ly. Hindi talaga nila pinaalam, para di mahalata ni Jia ang planong gawin nilang lima.

Oh, okay. San ka ngayon?

Palabas ng bldg. I'm on my way to Rizal Lib.

Ah, sige ingat ka Ji! 😘

"Ang cold niya na talaga" Sabi ni Mich.

"That's one thing that led me to my hypothesis, guys. Baka nga.." Sabi ni Ella.

"We still don't know, Ella. We still need more basis for that" Sabi ni Den.

Ella chuckled "Oh yeah? One more thing. Rizal Lib is on the other way, and Jia doesn't need a car to go there. But here she is, going in her car"

Sinundan ng iba gamit ang paningin si Jia na naglakad papuntang kotse niya. Which is katabi lang ng kotse ni Ly kaya nakikita nila ito. Though Jia can't, because it's heavily tinted.

They saw Jia texted someone. Bea doesn't want to assume but with everything, hindi na sila nakaka sigurado.

Then, they followed Jia.

They keep their distance while doing so, pero nagtaka sila ng pumasok si Jia sa isang condominium just in front of Ateneo.

Jia parked her car, and Ly did too. Inintay muna nilang maka baba si Jia bago sila bumaba.

"Rizal Lib?" Hindi makapaniwalang tanong ni Bea. They're now on their way inside the condo.

"Uy, how would we know where Jia is going?"

Ly smiled and get a hoodie and a baseball cap from the back of her car. "Any problem?"

Surprisingly, hindi napapansin ni Jia na kasama niya si Bea mismo sa loob ng elevator. The latter is wearing Ly's things.

Bea just to be sure texted Jia again.

San ka?

From: Julia 😍
Rizal Lib nga. Wag mo na ko puntahan, I'm busy.

That broke Bea's heart. She send texts to the others updating them. They stayed at Ly's unit in the same condo.

It was on the 7th floor where Jia go out.

Para di mahalata, she took a left turn while Jia took the right.

Bea called Mich saying she's on the 7th floor, and Jia took a left turn.

"Oh no" Bea heard Mich say.

"Why?" Bea hissed.

"Tignan mo kung anong room number"

Bea did, hindi siya nagpahalata, pero tinignan niya kung saan pumasok si Jia.

"Mich, 712"

"Shit"

"Bakit ba?" Tanong ni Bea.

"Stayput. Punta kami diyan"

"Bakit ba ayaw mong sabihin kung ano meron?" Naiinis na tanong ni Bea.

"Because Bea, 712 is the same condo unit of Miguel"
