Chapter 24

A/N: BES OMG MATATAPOS NA!!!!

The moment Jia step inside the court she knows something will happen.

Especially they are up against UST this v league.

Kanina pa natatamaan si Jia ng bola, kahit nasa sideline siya doing her routine with coach Tai. Hindi niya alam kung sinasadya ba ni Ej paluin ng sobrang lihis ang bola para matamaan siya or hindi. She doesn't know Ej personally so she doesn't want to judge.

One time the ball she is using roll over the side of UST. Jessey De Leon is about to pick Ateneo's ball to give it to Jia but Ej kick the ball away for Jia to run for it.

Hindi na lang tumingin pa si Jia kay Ej at dumeretso na lang sa huddle nila.

Once they're there, hindi mapakali si Bea. She knows and she can see how Ej makes Jia's life hard even with a couple of minutes.

Hindi siya maka patol kasi alam niya, one false move and good bye Ateneo volleyball na siya.

So instead of doing something bad, she wrap her arms around her girlfriend and whisper "Pag di na ako naka uniform, mag didisguise ako para kidnapin yung taong yun"

She heard Jia's cute chuckles "Baliw, wag ganun, bayaan mo na lang siya"

Jia reach out for Bea's arm and hold it while it is wrapped around her.

Bea didn't answer, instead she kiss her girlfriend's temple. "I love you"

Jia smiled sweetly "I love you too, Bea"

The bell rang and it is the signal if the start of the game.

Jia expected that Ej won't play. Warm up pa lang puro out ang palo niya. That's because she's really targeting Jia. But of course their coach doesn't know that so she sits Ej first for Jia doesn't know how long.

They walk towards the court as the game starts.

The Ateneo lady eagles are confident as ever. This team doesn't had the chance to beat them last UAAP season. So what more this time that they have Bea and Kiwi for their middle and their defense and offense are remarkable as ever.

Napatawag kagad ang coach ng UST ng time out sa hindi oras.

Jia wipe the sweat off Bea's face as they ars listening to coach Tai's "Good spiking-uh and digging-uh. Jia nice setting-uh. Continue, heart strong"

Jia smiled at their coach's accent.

Not long after they go back inside the court.

The crowd starter to cheer as Ej comes in the court. She's one of the sought after rookies this season for UST.

Sakto nasa front row si Ej. She's against Jia and Bea who is also in the front row.

Ej's first attack was check by Jia. Dennise Lazaro who is all over the place recovered the ball. Jia as she is, set the ball to Bea even when she's kneeling. And Bea delivers as usual.

The first set ended with a big lead of Ateneo.

"Ej! Try mo mag cross court! Tama ginagawa mo at sa maliit na blocker mo pinapadaan. Pero kanina ka pa na b-block or na checheck. Baka di mo alam, marunong din mag block si Morado" Sermon ng coach nila kay Ej.

"Psh, Morado" Mahinang sabi ni Ej. "Sorry coach bawi ako"

The second set started, amd there was an over receive ball of Mich so Jia had to jump for it.

Pero it's about to cross the net so Ej spike it with all her might.

Wala ng nagawa si Jia kungdi umiwas dito as Ej target her body again, buti na lang at mabilis si Jia na maka ilag.

They huddle and Mich said she was sorry.

The next rally was like that also, but Jia is now ready. She make something out of it. She dump the ball and the UST players are a second late.

Even though the ball landed already, Ej still run for the ball and using her foot she kick it like at football player. Tumama ito sa mukha ni Jia.

Nawalan ng balanse si Jia dahil sa lakas ng tama ng bola sa kanyang mukha. She tried to stand up pero nahihilo siya. Coach Tai signalled for change players, at pinasok si Gizelle for Jia.

Isang rotation lang ang natapos at lumabas na si Bea. Dumeretso siya sa kung saan naka upo si Jia. "Okay ka lang?"

Jia nodded "Nahihilo lang"

Pero matapos niya itong sabihin ay nag dugo ang kanyang ilong. Mabilis na inabot ni Bea ang kanyang towel para punasan ang nagdudugong ilong ni Jia.

"Tsk, yung babaeng talaga na iyon!" Inis na sabi ni Bea.

Jia chuckled "It's okay, Bei, bayaan mo na siya, mas lalaki lang ang gulo"

"Kanina pa siya eh! Irereklamo ko talaga siya" Nakasimangot na tugon ni Bea.

Jia laugh again and hold Bea's hand na naka hawak sa towel. She get the towel. "Tapusin mo na yung game"

Jia smiled as Bea stood. It's her time to enter the rotation again.

Jia again, smile to herself as she watch Bea scores for the team non-stop.

"20 point?! Deym!" Sigaw ng team. Bea produced 20 points for the team on her 1st league as a college student.

Bea smiled slightly. "Thanks to the wonderful setters"

Jia is about to comment that it is Bea and not the setter when she feel dizzy. She almost fall if not for Bea.

"Uy, okay ka lang ba talaga?" Tanong ni Bea.

Jia smiled weakly. "Yes"

"Ang putla mo na oh" Pag pansin na ng ibang team mates nila sakanya.

"Probably the blood loss. Okay lang ako, guys" Jia said.

"We will check on that" Matigas na sabi ni Bea.

"It's fine, I'm fine" Jia said and wave her hands. "Don't worry"

The lady eagles are on their way back in Ateneo. They're inside the bus. And Bea and Jia as usual is sitting side by side.

Nasa may pinaka bintana si Jia, naka sandal ang kanyang ulo sa balikat ni Bea, hawak niya ang kamay ng isa habang natutulog.

She didn't know her phone beeped signalling someone.. Someone from the past messaged her.
