I shiver as my feet touch the cold floor. Getting up slowly, I walk towards the wall on the other side of the room and turn on the light switch. The brightness makes me squint my eyes as they begin to adjust. Looking at my alarm clock, I see the hands pointing at certain numbers and realize it's 5:02 a.m. It's still early but going back to sleep isn't an option.

Deciding to get ready I go into the bathroom and turn on the water. I take my pajamas off and leave them in a pile on the floor. I touch the water to see if it's warm, once I confirm it is, I step in. The shooting streams of water feel relaxing and help me break away from my sleepy state. I stare at nothing in particular. When my blank thoughts bring up the dream I had. Well, I should call it a nightmare, or rather, a memory.

It just had to be that one. The memory from my past, one I wish I could forget. Even though I know it'll never happen. How can I forget? That memory, my past, it's a part of me. A part that will stay with me forever. I quickly wash up, turn off the water and get out. Standing in front of my closet, I put on my everyday outfit. Which is my sleeveless black top, it's outlined in (favorite/color) and goes down to my thighs. It also has two slit cuts on both sides. On top of that, I put on a band like wrap that goes right underneath my breasts. Along with my (f/c) shorts and black thigh-high socks. They match my finger-less gloves and sandals. Which are both black.

Going back into the bathroom, I brush my teeth and wash my face. Once finished with my morning routine, I check the time. It's now 7:28 a.m. I check my appearance one last time before leaving. With that I walk out my apartment deciding to skip breakfast. After locking my door, I trail around the village knowing I still had time to kill.

As of now I'm twelve years old, I live alone in the Leaf village and go to the ninja academy. I'm from the Kirui clan, which was massacred seven years ago. People say everyone from my clan was killed, and that I'm the only one left. But I know better, I know that some are alive. How do I know? It's more of a gut feeling. As for my father, I know for a fact that he's alive. That much was proven when he killed my mother the night I had escaped. She was able to stall him while I got away. Giving up her life in order to keep me safe. My father is considered dead along with the rest of my clan, but he's out there somewhere. Doing what exactly? I have yet to find out.

Although what he does shouldn't matter to me. The night the massacre took place, I ran to the Leaf village like my mother told me to. By the time I made it, I was exhausted and ended up collapsing in front of the main gates. No one found me until the next day. That's when I met the hokage. The old man understood my situation and allowed me to stay, giving me an apartment in the process.

Ever since then, I joined the academy. Working to become a great ninja by honing my clan's kekkei genkai. It involves using and controlling our unique chakra, called sutomi chakra. This allows me to preform powerful jutsu and use certain healing techniques. Our clan also specializes in genjutsu. Which I'm still working to perfect. That's basically all I do, I just train.

I see a clock inside a shop, it's 8:00 a.m.

'Better get going.' with that thought I make my way towards the academy.

Upon seeing the building, I walk in. Reaching my classroom, I slide the door open and step in. The place is as loud as ever. Everyone is so rowdy. I sit behind Naruto, taking a seat between Hinata and Shikamaru. These are the people I mostly talk to. They're my friends after all. I turn to my right and greet Hinata.

"Good morning Hinata."

"Oh, g-good morning (Name)" she says shyly while twiddling her fingers.

Hinata was always shy, even when we first met. I remember she was always quiet and never really spoke to anyone. So, I took a chance and got to know her. She's a total sweetheart but she lets her shyness get the better of her at times.

"Hi Shikamaru." I say giving him a smile, which he barely acknowledges.

He shifts his eyes over to me before he says "Oh...hey (Name)."

His response sounds slow and uninterested. It makes my eyebrow twitch slightly. Sometimes his nonchalant persona really got under my skin. I'll be honest, When I first met Shikamaru I thought he was a lazy good for nothing slacker. Which is still kind of true, but when I bothered to actually talk to him, I realized just how smart he was. Shikamaru may not show it, but I know. After our first conversation we naturally began to speak to each other more often. Leading us to friendship. I always go to him when I have a problem. It's what I like most about him, he's a great listener.

Looking around the classroom I see the usual. There are kids conversating with one another. While on the other side of the room I see a crowd of girls swooning over Sasuke Uchiha. They surround him as well.

'How typical'

Not that I have something against Sasuke, I just think he's too full of himself. Always acting as if he's better than everyone. Sasuke and I are the top students in class, so we're always silently competing with each other to see who's better. It's me obviously, but it's not like he'll ever admit that. Imagine, an Uchiha getting beat by a girl. I can't wait until the day I get to show him who's really the best. And when I do, we'll see if he's still so full of himself.

Pulling away from my previous thoughts, I notice Hinata is staring at something intently. Looking in her direction I see she's staring at Naruto Uzumaki. No one really talks to Naruto, but he and I are pretty close. Hinata and I watch as Naruto begins to pick a fight with Sasuke. It's so obvious that she likes him but knowing Naruto he's too oblivious to notice.

A small smirk crosses my face as I begin to question Hinata.

"What are you looking at Hinata?"

"N-n-nothing!" she says panicking slightly and averting her gaze from me. Not to mention the bright blush that appears on her face.

"Oh really? Because it looks like you were checking out Naruto." I say while poking her side.

Her blush darkens as she tries to defend herself.

"W-what are you t-talking about?!"

"Oh, you know, don't deny it. You like Naruto."

While I continue to tease Hinata I failed to notice a certain raven-haired boy was watching me closely.
