"Jayla?"

The young girl looks for her friend, unable to hear the near-silent giggles from around the corner.
------
Jayla walks through a corridor aboard the Helicarrier. She's a bit down, mainly because she blew her chance to bring in someone on the wanted list. He was extremely low on that list, but he was there! She saw him there, she could have sworn it! She walks to her quiet place, a small maintenance room that isn't used anymore. She creates a chair in the corner out of ice, and plops down on the chair.
------
"It's not funny, Jayla!"

Jayla giggles around the corner, and jumps out in front of Skye.

"AHH! Jayla, why would you do that? I was looking for you everywhere!"

"Except around that corner."

"Come on! I was getting worried!"

"I wasn't." Jayla giggles.

"Well, great job. You officially screwed my blood pressure."
------
Jayla snaps back to the present. She has any memory she wants at her fingertips. Every detail perfectly burnt into her mind. That includes the Scarlet Spider's fighting style. She recognizes it from an old tape while going through Cindy Moon's bunker. The man's name was Kaine, and he showed up a few years before she went into the bunker. Around 1994. So she knew that he was Kaine...

But she didn't know Kaine. And that needed to change.

As she sits on her "throne" of ice and thinks, Jayla idly traces patterns of frost into the arms of the chair. Hmm...1994. That would be more than twenty years ago. In fact, it would be-
------
A deep sleep.
A baby and a woman covered in frost.
A young agent and a middle-aged agent.
A house in the middle of nowhere.
A rescue that would change the world.
A perfect memory with cryokinesis.
A serum and a purpose.
Fear... curiosity... confusion...
------
Jayla manages to block out most of what she remembers from that year. She's always hated how the littlest things, like a date, can trigger her deepest, darkest memories. It's not until she opens her eyes when she realizes how tightly she had been gripping the ice-formed chair arms. The ice is completely cracked and about ready to break apart.

I wonder how much stronger Kaine is compared to me... He's definitely strong enough to break my nose.

Jayla rubs her nose carefully, but a little bit of blood still dribbles out. She sighs and makes a light layer of frost on her nose. Her frost has a small healing factor, but it always does it's job right. With nothing else on her mind at the moment, Jayla starts to think about how she can find Kaine again.

And hopefully get some answers...
