Kaine wakes up to bright lights shining in his eyes, the sudden shift in brightness causing him to quickly close his eyes. He then takes the normal second approach, slowly opening his eyes, letting his eyes adjust to the light. He eventually fully opens his eyes, turning to see Delia standing next to his bed. He looks around, noticing a monitor, only the back of which he can see. He turns back to Delia. "So, what happened?" He begins to slowly sit up, when a sharp pain similar to the one he felt while trying to escape the Quinjet. He continues, managing to get himself upright.

"Well, what happened was Jayla saved you underwater, and when we got you up here, some SHIELD scientists checked on you. Now comes the bad news."

She pauses.

"Get on with it," Kaine says.

She picks up a clipboard, the contents of which Kaine cannot see.

"When you were stabbed, most likely by Trigger, your body began to rapidly regenerate. Once that ended, your body began to enter a state of..."

"Rapid clone degeneration," Kaine finished.

"Yeah."

"Well, I guess I'll have to do what I can using what I have."

Kaine gets up, walking over to where his suit is, removing the smock he's wearing (they kept his underwear on). He pulls on the pants of his suit, looking down at his chest before putting on his shirt. It looks scarred everywhere, some flesh just missing. He then pulls on his shirt, turning to the exit, clutching his mask in one hand.

He walks towards the holding cells, pulling on his mask along the way. He swipes a guard's access card along, the way, continuing to walk as if nothing happened. He looks around for Trigger's cell, opening it when he finds it, then closing it from the inside, dropping the card outside, trapping both of them inside.

"It's just you and me now."

"Sure. I don't mind fucking you up."

Kaine doesn't laugh. He grabs her by her two normally placed arms, shoving her against the wall, cracking it. SHIELD agents begin to come to the cell, unable to do anything, as Kaine already destroyed the panel.

"I want you to remember this."

Trigger begins to scream, as Kaine burns her forearms.

"Who hired you?"

"He was completely anonymous! He was wearing some kind of mask!"

Kaine tightens his grip.

"What did it look like?"

"It was some kind of dog, black and gold, I-"

Kaine interrupts her. "The head of Anubis."

"OKAY! LET ME GO!"

Kaine let's her drop to the floor, her arms red and burned.

SHIELD agents rush in, as they just managed to open the cell. They aim for Kaine, willing to kill. He puts his hands up, then kneels to the ground, then sweep kicks as many agents as he can, then fighting his way through the rest. Once he reaches an area where there are currently no agents, he runs to the exit leading to the top of the Helicarrier. Once he reaches, he is greeted by Jayla.

"I know who hired Trigger."

"Well, right now that isn't why I'm here."

She then tries to freeze his arm, but he jerks it out of the way, then punching her. She then freezes his feet to the ground, fixing him in place. She then punches his stomach, then his face. Kaine fights back with a swift punch to her boob. She falls down, taking time to get back up, covering her hand with rock-solid ice and punching him in the head, knocking him out, the ice at his feet breaking as he falls.

He wakes up in a holding cell, still in his suit. Jayla and Delia are standing outside.

"I know who hired Trigger."

"Well, that's the only option you have." Jayla says.

"The Jackal. Not the one who made me, but another clone, Ben Reilly."

Delia chimes in. "You have any evidence?"

"Sure. When I interrogated--"

Jayla interrupts. "Tortured, you mean."

"Fuck off. She said she was hired by a man wearing a black and gold dog-looking mask. What she was referring to was the head of Anubis, the Egyptian god of the afterlife. That's what Ben wears."

"Anything besides a mask description?" Jayla asks.

"Yes, actually. I placed a tracer on the ship we encountered, which has gone to places like Houston, where Delia and I were, and St. Agnes Orprhanage, where Jayla spent some of her childhood."

"How do you know about that?"

"I did my homework. Now, let me out. I know Ben better than either of you ever will."

Jayla opens the cell, letting Kaine out. He walks out, heading to the Hangar behind Jayla.

"Make sure this one's fueled up, Jay."

"Shut up."

"Uh... guys... I'm hungry."

"Shut the fuck up, Delia."
