We open on Kaine Parker, the Scarlet Spider. Yes, he only stopped at Houston for Tex-Mex. However, that isn't the point. Today, our hero needs to visit a grave. A few months ago, his friend, Darla, died. He doesn't know exactly when, nor does he know how. He just knows she won't be coming back. Kaine lets go of the web he was just holding at the highest point it could reach, and fell down to the graveyard. He instinctively walks past his own grave to Darla's, but someone else is there before he is. Probably her friend, he thinks to himself, as he places flowers in front of her grave and walks away. The girl grabs his arm. She seems to be shaking. A lot. Seems... nervous. That, or she's sad. Hard to tell which from a shaky hand. He slowly turns around, and faces her. She seems so torn.

"You're the Scarlet Spider. Sorry we had to meet like this. My name is Charlie Darwin. So, she's gone. How are you taking things? I'm guessing you were close?" He stared at her for a few seconds as her eyes are looking everywhere as if nervous.

She - Charlie - continues. "I knew her, obviously. We've knew each other for a while." She nods as her eyes land on the grave. She sighs before turning to face a tree.

"I didn't get to know her that well. We've only ever met four times. It's just... She was important, I guess. To a few people. We're a bit unsure now. Things are getting even more strange. Yet, I have people backing me up. I guess, I'm worried if you're alright? I worry a lot. Are you?"

"Yeah, I guess I am," replies Kaine, who looks over at Darla's grave, then in the direction of his own grave.

"Okay. Well. That's good, I suppose."

The area falls into a silence, the only noise being the autumn winds of a cold day. Seeing this as an appropriate time to leave, Kaine begins to walk away from Charlie.

Meanwhile, from nearby, a woman watches Kaine carefully. She needs to know everything she can about him. After all, it's what she does for a living.
