We tumbled out of the back of the van on to the edge of the field. The ground was hard and uneven so we made sure to keep an eye on the floor as not to trip, but at least it wasn't as muddy as it usually was so we won't have to clean our shoes. Luckily we've not had much rain recently so we weren't getting mud in our shoes, it's very inconvenient and uncomfortable.
Before Mike could get very far Tré launched himself onto Mike's back, using the fact he could leap out of the back of the van giving him a height advantage to get on to his taller friends back. Mike stumbled a bit but ended up just accepting it knowing that Tré wasn't gonna move anyway, I smiled slightly at their childishness.
"Hey, I wanna go!" Patrick exclaimed turning to Pete, Pete sighed loudly but lowered himself slightly letting Patrick jump on, Patrick grinned and kissed Pete's cheek before resting his head on Petes shoulder. Frank was next to hop on Gerard's back.
I am so not being left out of this fun. No way.
"Billie!" I exclaim running up behind him jumping on to his back, he barely even stumbled forward which surprised me considering he was a bit shorter than me and doesn't work out, I would've thought he would've at least stumbled. Maybe he's been working out in private.
"For fucks sake" he muttered trying to sound annoyed, so I lent forward and despite the fake annoyance the smile on his face said he didn't actually care. I gave him a quick kiss on the side of his forehead before leaning back again.
"No homo though" I said as I began tapping on billies head to annoy him, I doubt he could feel it through his mess of hair, which also was ticking my cheek a bit from where it stuck out in a bunch of different directions. Sometimes I think he just wakes up and leaves it.
Also, kissing Billie's head meant nothing that wasn't platonic, we're brothers by everything but blood.
"Puh-lease Brendon, we all know you're the biggest homo around" he responded and I assume he had a smirk on his face, I flick him on the back the head.
"Uh, bitch did I say you could take my job? I'm the biggest homo here" Gerard shot back overhearing our conversation, Frank was playing with Gerard's hair from on his back, twirling it around his fingers with a small smile on his face.
"Of course, how could we forget you're the biggest homo in the world" I say laughing softly "No one can compete with your levels of gayness"
We walked, or in some of our cases were carried, into the woods. This is our favourite place to go, has been for a while.
We found an old tree house here a while ago and fixed it up (by this I mean Mike and Pete fixed it up as they are the only ones who are good at DIY and building) and we made it stable and repainted it, making it our own. This is where we go a lot to get away from all of the loud noise and claustrophobic places of the city.
After a few more minutes of walking and a little bit of complaining from Mike that his knees hurt from carrying Tré we arrived.
I hung back and let everyone else accend the kind of crappy rope ladder before me, I smile at the side of the tree where we had all engraved our initials. It was very cliche, sure, but it means that no matter what happens this will always be ours.
I climbed up the ladder into the small room sitting next to Tré, we all sat sound the edges of the small square room leaning our backs against the walls.
The first thing Mike did was throw a few packets of cigarettes into the middle of the room. We all got one and lit them, you could tell that most of us were a lot less on edge afterwards.
