Chapter 27

Once you get to the shack Dipper stands up from the chair he is sitting in surprised. "(Y-n)!!!?? Uh... are you... o-ok?" Bill looks at Dipper angrily. You were still upset with him but decided to go up into your room and calm down in there instead of yelling at Dipper. It would be a waste of breath anyway. After all that has been going on, it felt good to just be able to lie in bed for a bit and think. The summer was almost over and your parents would come back and you would go home. You didn't want to leave. The Pines were like family now. You couldn't image not being with them for a year, let alone a week. You knew that the possibilities of coming back at all were pretty slim. You could try convincing your parents, but you knew that would be hard.

You lay there for a bit, thinking of events about to come and just thinking of the fun you have had in Gravity Falls. Tears started to well up in your eyes  you didn't want to go. You couldn't imagine it. A slight knock sounded on your bedroom door. You quickly wipe the tears away and sniffled a bit. Once you felt slightly better, you opened the door to reveal Bill. He gave you a sweet and patient smile. "Hey (y/n). You ok? It looks like you have been crying." You broke down in tears. The worst part about leaving, was leaving Bill. You stood there crying a bit before Bill wrapped his arms around you and placed his chin on the top of your head, allowing you to cry into his shoulder. You wanted to stay in his arms for eternity. You didn't want to let go.

After a few moments of crying, he let go and held both of your hands and looked into your glistening eyes. "What's wrong? Is there a way I can help?" That was the first time that Bill seemed to be concerned for anyone's feelings in a while. You looked at him and said that him just being here is helpful. He sat down with you at the foot of your bed as you vented and said everything that was on your mind.

"I don't want you to leave either." He hugged you tight. Then he suddenly sat up straight with a huge grin on his face. "I have an idea! What if we have a going away 'party'!? With just you and me!" You smiled at the idea. "Yeah. I like it. But when would we do it?" He said the day before you left. He said that you would do anything you wanted. You could watch a movie, go out to dinner, go to the mindscape, whatever you wanted.

After he comforted you he asked you if you wanted anything. You kindly said no thank you and decided to go talk to Ford. You haven't talked to him in a while. You walked downstairs and asked Soos if he had seen Ford around. He said he was down in his lair. "Be careful, dude. He may be doin' something dangerous." You smiled and said that you would be carful and headed towards the vending machine. You opened it and walked down the stairs. "Ford!? You down here?"

"Yes, yes. Now quiet. I'm trying to work."
You walked down the rest of the stairs and saw him writing in his journal.

"What are you writing about?"

"A creature I found."

You got suspicious. "What creature? Did you capture it?"

"I almost did. I'm planning to find it tomorrow." He looked up from his work and realized it was you.
"OH!! Hey (y/n)!"

"Um.... what creature?"

"I'm calling it the Shénmì. It is a dark and mysterious creature that has the ability to change size. Shénmì means enigmatic, or dark and mysterious, in the traditional Chinese language."

"Oh." You opened an app and looked to check this. To no avail, he was right. You weren't surprised (p.s. You can check this if you want). "Cool"

"Indeed."
An awkward silence hung in the air. He was leaning over the journal sketching the monster. When he finished you asked him if you could see.

"Of course. If you want, you could even help me capture it!" He said enthusiastically.

"Ooh. I would love to help!"
He handed his journal to you and opened it to the page he was writing in for you to look at the picture. You were smiling... until you looked at his sketch. Your smile slipped from your face into a concerning frown. Your eyes widened.

"Everything alright? (Y/n)?"
You were numb. You couldn't move or speak. You just stood there looking at his sketch bewildered.
