Mike: Hey El! Wake up, It is time for school!
Mike was excited to have school with Eleven, the only girl he cared about.
Eleven: Okay, Mike.
Eleven went into the bathroom and changed, and after she was done, Mike went to the bathroom and changed as well.
Karen: Breakfast is ready!
Nancy, Mike, and Eleven chowed down their breakfast.
Nancy: So, Eleven. Are you excited?
Eleven: Yes.
Mike: We have the same schedule, El.
Eleven and Mike smiled at each other. This made Nancy a bit suspicious.
Karen: Alright. Time to go, you three. Have fun.
Karen kissed Mike and Nancy's head, then Eleven's.
Mike: Mom, don't embarrass me..
Karen: Alright?..
Eleven: Bye.
Karen waved the three goodbye, and they went out the door.
Mike: Hop on, El.
Mike hopped on his bike, and Eleven went on, grasping his shoulders.
Mike: So, the Snowball is coming around again.. Do you — want to go with me?
Eleven smiled, but Mike didn't see this, since he was steering.
Eleven: Friends don't break promises, Mike.
Mike was happy she remembered what he said. But, he didn't like the word 'friends' when talking about Eleven.
Mike: We're here, El!
They were at Hawkins middle. They entered the door.
Mike: Your locker is next to mine. But you don't have a back-pack yet.. or textbooks. Because you are new, and we need to buy you one. So just wait while I unpack.
Mike grabbed his textbooks, and put his backpack in the locker. He grabbed Eleven's hand, and walked to their first period.
Lucas, Dustin, and Will: Hey Eleven! Hey Mike!
Mike & Eleven: Hey guys!
They sat down next to Lucas, Dustin, and Will.
Mr. Clarke: Good evening class, today we have a new student named — Eleven.
Everyone stared at her.
Girl 1: Is it a girl or a boy?
Girl 2: I don't want to know..
Girl 3: Weird.
Mr. Clarke signaled for her to come up, but Eleven was nervous around adults. At first she hesitated, but then walked up.
Mr. Clarke: Tell the class something about you, Eleven.
Eleven stared, not knowing what to say.
Eleven: — I like eggos..
Everyone laughed, except the gang. Mike glared at bullies, who cackled and pointed. Eleven sat next to Mike awkwardly.
Eleven: Mouth breathers..
Lucas, Dustin, Will, and Mike: Yeah..
The bell rang and they were off to next period.
