It was a normal morning in the Wheeler home. They were all eating blueberry pancakes. Nancy glanced at Mike and Eleven, then back at her plate. Something was hidden from Nancy. She just knew it. Mike only munched on the pancakes, while Eleven nibbled.
Mike: So El..
Eleven: Yes?
Mike: You wanna go somewhere?
Karen: Micheal.
Mike: Yeah?..
Karen: You've been going out too much. Just yesterday you were at the Waffle House alone. How about a friend's house?
Mike, A Bit Disappointed: Oh, okay.
Nancy got up and walked out with her satchel alongside. She was heading to school.
Karen: You can go to Lucas's, after school.
Mike: Okay. I will.
Mike and Eleven rode to school. Eleven went to her locker and grabbed an LA textbook. They walked to class together. Lucas and Dustin were lounged in the regular seats, waiting for the duo. Mike and Eleven located beside them.
Mike: Hey guys.
Dustin: Hey.
Lucas: Hey man.
Eleven: Hi.
Will walked in and sat with them.
Will: Sorry. Jonathan had to drive me to school.
Lucas: Oh.
Dustin: Doesn't your Mom usually take you?
Will: My Mom was getting — dizzy.
Mike: Oh, sorry about that, Will.
Will: It's fine.
The class was long and boring. Soon, it was lunch. It felt like days for the gang. They all sat, while Eleven was in line.
Mike: Guys, I need your help.
Lucas: Yeah, what do you need?
Dustin: We're here to help.
Will: Yep.
Mike: My Mom said I can go to your house today.
Lucas: Sure. Dustin and Will are going too.
Mike: Can you like..
Mike paused.
Mike: I wanted to take Eleven on a date. Like not some cheap Waffle House.
Lucas: You mean we have to sneak you out? No way, man.
Mike: What else can we do?
Lucas: Wait..
Dustin & Lucas: You thinking what I'm thinking?
Dustin and Lucas pointed fingers at each other. Will watched. Mike raised a brow.
Lucas: Okay so we were thinking..
Lucas and Dustin were whispering into Mike's ear. Will nodded and leaned in.
Will: Good idea.
Mike: Okay, we're set up.
Eleven came beside Mike.
Eleven: What's set up?
Mike jumped from the startle.
Mike: Nothing El! Just sit with me.
They all chatted, no word about the 'idea'.
