Chapter 5: Seizures?

Charlotte was rushed to the hospital in the ambulance. David (with Simon), Alex and Brant followed the ambulance to the hospital. David and Alex jumped out of the car and ran into the ER.

"Brant take care of Simon" David yelled back. Brant quickly went to park. 

Alex and David ran up to the ER desk. David pulled out his ID tag.

"I'm Dr. David Kennedy. My little sister Charlotte who is 11 years old was just brought here. I need to go back there."

"Yes right this way" said the nurse, "but he has to stay here" meaning Alex.

Alex stopped at the door. David followed the nurse quickly through. Alex just just stood there staring. Brant had just come in the door and ran up to him while holding Simon.

"What's happening?"

"I don't know" 

David came around the curtain where Charlotte was. There was another doctor there, that David knew.

"David?" he questioned.

"Tell me everything what's happening?"

"You shouldn't be here" 

"Someone grab me a coat" 

A nurse left to go grab him one. 

"Don't tell me I can't be here, she is my little sister. And someone call Dr. Ian Kennedy. He is upstairs in neuro."

Another nurse left to do it. 

David was yelling commands at everyone as Charlotte still lay unconscious on the bed. She had an oxygen mask on, IVs in her arms, and monitors already hooked up to her. 

Meanwhile upstairs. Ian was at the nurses station looking a file. 

"Dr. Kennedy. Its the ER. Its your little sister..."

Before the nurse could finish Ian took off. He got down to the ER very quickly and came around the curtain. 

"What's wrong? what happened?"

He saw his sister laying unconscious and everyone working on her. 

"I found her unconscious on the floor when I got back" was all David could manage to explain at this point... he went on to explain what they had done so far and her state. 

"She is stable right now. Heart rate is normal, etc." 

Ian pulled David aside "Did you even think about it being a seizure again?"

David stopped for a moment and looked over at her "She hasn't had one since was like 3 years old though" 

"Doesn't matter"

Ian looked over at the nurses "I want an MRI of her brain" 

Meanwhile in the ER, Alex had called his mother in law and Brant had called the others. Erin  came rushing in the door with Paul, Hannah and Kate. 

"What's happening? Is she okay?"

"I have no idea. David's back there and I think Ian is too. But we don't know anything yet" 

"You said when you got back to the house you found her unconscious on the floor. What do you mean back?" asked Kate.

Just then Blaine, Ben, Brian, Luke Nol and Ethan came in the door. 

Everyone started to ask a million questions. Just then a nurse came over. 

"Why don't you all follow me to another room to wait" 

They all followed the nurse to another room. 

"Explain please" said Erin.

Alex looked over at Brant. 

"What?" asked Paul.

"The reason why David left Charlotte alone with Simon was because I got arrested for trespassing."

"What?" asked Blaine 

"Ya. So I called Alex who called David and they came and got me. David didn't want to bring Charlotte and Simon, because he didn't know what kind of trouble I was in" 

"We were gone for not even a half hour. When we got back he heard Simon screaming and found Charlotte unconscious on the floor"

Blaine then went and pinned Brant against the wall "I swear if anything happens to her!" 

"Hey!" yelled Brian 

"Let him go!" yelled Erin, "I am going to talk to a nurse, Kate come with me."

Kate and Erin left. Everyone was left in the room.

"How could you be so stupid!" yelled Paul.

"I know! okay! you all don't have to yell at me" said Brant.

"Enough guys" said Hannah.

"Really though, it would've happened whether or not David left the house or not" said Luke.

"Ya but we don't know how long she was unconscious on the ground" said Ben.

"Exactly we don't know anything. So everyone just needs to calm down" said Hannah.

"I need to take a walk" said Brant, handing Simon to Hannah.

Brant got up and left the room.

"Give him a break" said Nol.

"Give him a break? He got arrested" said Luke.

"Just wait till dad finds out" said Ethan.

"Hey we are not going to tell dad what Brant did when he gets here. There is enough to worry about" said Paul.

"Can we all just relax now, please" said Hannah, "Simon is getting upset" 

Everyone was then finally silent and sat there quietly waiting to hear news.
