If was after Thanksgiving dinner, Charlotte had wandered upstairs, she stopped when she heard two people talking in the library. Charlotte around the corner listening. It was Kate and Hannah.

"What am I going to tell Alex?" asked Kate almost in tears.

"He's your husband, he will still love you" said Hannah trying to comfort her.

"All he's ever wanted was kids of his own"

"There are other options"

"I can't tell him"

"Kate, you are going to have to eventually"

"I just don't know how at the moment. Can you just keep it between us for now?" asked Kate to Hannah.

"Of course and if you need anything you let me know" said Hannah hugging.

They started to exit the room and Charlotte quickly ran to hide in another room. They left and Charlotte watched before exiting the room she was hiding in.

"What are you doing?" asked Ethan who came up behind, she jumped.

"You scared me Ethan" said Charlotte sighing realizing it was him.

"I can see that" said Ethan with a laugh, "you hiding from someone?"

"No" said Charlotte.

"Liar"

"Its none of your business" said Charlotte walking away.

As she walked away she was confused, she wasn't entirely sure what the conversation was about.

She found Kate in the kitchen she seemed upset, but no one seemed to notice. She just watched Kate for a moment.

"Charlotte?" asked Paul snapping his fingers in front of her. "Charlotte?" he said again.

"What?"

Paul sighed "You can't fog out like that" he was worried it was seizure.

"Sorry"

"What's on your mind?"

"Nothing" she got up and left.

Paul watched her walked a curiously.

It was finally late at night and everyone left, Charlotte was walking up the steps to her room. Brant stopped her.

"Why so gloomy tonight?" asked Brant.

Charlotte shrugged.

Brant gave her a look.

"I'm just tired. All that turkey got me to"

"Okay..." said Brant, "Goodnight" he kissed the top of her head. She headed upstairs to bed.

Eventually Erin came up to say goodnight. She was tucking her in.

"Mom?" asked Charlotte.

"Yes dear?"

"Why would someone not be able to have kids?"

Erin gave her a questionable look "Why are you asking?"

"No reason, just curious"

"Okay, well there are certain organs and things in body that help make babies and well sometimes those things don't work right and then moms can't have kids"

Charlotte crunched up her face thinking.

"But there a lot of kids out there that don't have a mom and dad and need one. So if someone can't have kids, they can always adopt"
