Chapter 34: What are Best Friends For

Blaine slowly walked into the room. They all got up to leave and leave Blaine alone. Erin squeezed his hand.

"We will let you be alone" She smiled at him.

David was the last one out "Just talk to her"

Blaine stood there a little longer just staring at her. He then took a deep breathe and walked over to her. He sat down next to her and took her hand.

"I'm sorry, sweet pea. I should've been here sooner. It's just...Its just... I can't stand seeing you like this. We often think that you need all of us more than we need you, but that's not true. We all definitely need you more than you need us. And we definitely aren't gonna know what to do without around. So you gotta pull through this princess. Because you are my best friend and I don't know what I'm gonna do without you."  he was crying now and he leaned forward and kissed her forehead. "I love you so much!"

He was quiet for a while then said "I have someone here who really wants to see you. I'll be right back"

Blaine went into the hallway and found Ian and David standing there. Their parents were talking to other doctors. 

"Carter is here and I think he should see Charlotte" said Blaine.

"I don't know Blaine..." said Ian.

"I already talked to his mom, she said it was fine" 

They looked at each other. 

"I think it will help. I know it will"

"Okay, let me just go talk to someone. You go get him" said David. 

Blaine went to the waiting room. He nodded to Carter. 

"Come on" 

Carter jumped up and followed Blaine.

"I can see her?"

"I think so. David and Ian are pulling some strings"

They wandered down the hall and found David and Ian.

"Its okay for him to go" said David.

Ian went to his level "Charlotte is going to be hooked up to a bunch of machines and there is going be a tube down her throat so she can breathe, okay?"

Carter nodded. Ian and David led the way, followed by Carter then Blaine. Ian and David walked in the room. Carter stopped in the hallway. Blaine looked down at him. "You okay?"

"Ya" he walked in and up to her.

David, Ian and Blaine turned to leave.

"No! Blaine can you stay?"

"Sure" he said turning back around.

Ian and David left.

Carter was just watching her. Blaine took a seat across the room. "Talk to her"

"Can she hear me?"

Blaine shrugged "We don't know, but talking is suppose to help"

Carter was quiet for a moment then spoke up "Hey Charlotte"

He was quiet again.

"You know this really kinda sucks. You know not having you around right now and not knowing if you are going to be around..... If you didn't figure this out already then I don't know what to tell you, but you're my best friend and I don't know what I'd do without you, so you really have to be okay." he squeezed her hand. He held for a moment looking down at the floor crying. He then felt her hand move. He quickly looked up, her eyes were opening.
