Chapter 12: Wait, Why Are You Home???

"That's all I need from you three" said Kevin to Ian, David and Alex. They left, leaving Brian alone with his dad.

"Brian you should've came to me in the beginning" 

"I thought you'd be mad"

"I'm mad now!" Kevin said a little louder, "I'm mad at how you've been handling it. Everything you are doing is complete unacceptable"

"I know I'm sorry"

"Listen you better fix of all it. And I want a report on it. You are going to explain to me how you are going to fix things at school. And you are going to apologize to everyone in this family. Especially Charlotte"

"Yes sir"

"You're 24 years old, Brian, I shouldn't have to be telling you this"

"Yes sir"

"Now go" Kevin said sternly. 

Brian left he found David, Ian and Alex in the Kitchen with Paul and Kate.

"Guys I'm sorry for everything. I've been really stupid"

They just gave him a look.

"Alex, especially to you. I shouldn't have acted the way I did towards to you. I'm going to come up with a plan to fix this all with school" 

"Good" said Ian.

"Do you guys forgive me?" asked Brian.

"I don't know, depends" said David.

"Seriously?" asked Brian.

"I do" said Alex.

"I don't" said Ian, "You screamed at Charlotte, she is 11 years old" 

"I know, okay? I hate myself the most for that and I'll fix it" 

"better" said Ian walking away.

"I need to get home. Simon is sick" said David also leaving.

"Just don't fail school" said Kate, "Come on Alex" she said grabbing his arm.

"Give me a minute" Kate left too.

"Look Brian, I get it. This is stressful, but I can't help you if you keep acting like nothing is wrong."

"I know. And I'm done. I get it, I need to fix this and I will"

"Okay good, If you need my help, just ask" said Alex patting him on the shoulder and leaving too.

Brian headed up stairs to find Charlotte. He was confronted by Ben, Brant and Nol.

"Hey I'm sorry for acting like a jerk lately" 

They didn't respond.

"Where's Charlotte?"

"Crying her eyes in her room, which is locked" said Ben really angry.

"Maybe I can talk to her" said Brian.

"No" said Brant stepping in his way. 

"Guys..."

"No, we have all made one rule, one, which was we don't under any circumstances take our anger or scream at Charlotte no matter what. She doesn't find out about the bad stuff going on in our lives and if she does, we explain it to her calmly." said Brant.

"You broke that rule" said Nol.

"She doesn't need this" said Ben, "She's sick"

"I know! and I'm sorry!" yelled Brain.

"You don't get to talk to her right now!" yelled Brant.

"Are you kidding me?!?" yelled Brian.

"No we aren't!" yelled Nol.

The screaming continued back and forth, then Charlotte stuck her head out of the door. 

"Would you all shut up!!!!" she screamed 

They all stopped, she slammed the door behind her. 

"What the hell is going on?!?" they all turned to see Blaine.

"Blaine?" said Ben.

"What are you doing here?" asked Brian.

"Things didn't work out. I texted you all" said Blaine.

They stared blankly

"Whatever" said Blaine, "What is with the screaming?"

"Ask Brian" said Brant.

"I'm failing school, I was acting like a jerk and sorta freaked out on Charlotte, but I'm sorry and I'm fixing it all if they'd let me" said Brian staring down his brothers.

"Sorta freaked out?" asked Nol.

"You screamed at her!" yelled Ben.

"So you broke our number 1 rule?" asked Blaine.

"Yes! And I'm sorry!" yelled Brian.

Just then Kevin came up the stairs.

"All of you downstairs now!" 

They followed him downstairs.

"We don't scream at each other in this house! We especially don't do outside our little sister's bedroom!" he said sternly.

"We are sorry" said Ben, "Brian just broke the only rule we have"

"Which is?"

"We don't scream or yell at Charlotte about the things he did scream and yell at her about" said Nol.

"So instead you screamed at each other, outside HER BEDROOM DOOR?" their dad was mad.

They were silent.

"I've had enough. And there is still a ton of cleaning up to do. So I suggest you all get to it" said Kevin sternly. 

Ben, Brant, Brian and Nol walked away. Charlotte was sitting on the steps, but they didn't notice.

"Blaine, I'm sorry things didn't work out" said Kevin.

"Its okay, Just not meant to be right now" said Blaine 

Kevin smiled and hugged his son. 

"I better go talk to Charlotte" 

Kevin nodded. Blaine left. Once he got outside the living room, Charlotte jumped up. 

"Blaine!" she yelled and ran to him. He picked her up and hugged her tightly. After a minute, she left go of him, while he still held her. 

"Why are you home early?" she asked.

"Just didn't work out" he said wiping some tears away from her cheek with his thumb

"I'm sorry" she said

"Its okay, just not meant to be right now" said Blaine, "Now can you tell me what's going on?" 

She nodded and he carried her back upstairs.
