21. // Confusion //

I couldn't think. Noah was kissing me. This was wrong. He can't do that. He...he's my best friend... Why was he doing this? I pulled away from him, and looked at him, wide eyed.

'Noah! What have you done? You've ruined everything! Why'd you do this? You...you kissed me. Why?'

Noah was speechless. He seemed just as shocked as I was, if not more. He looked at me, his mouth in the shape of an 'O' .

'Oh my god! Gab! I'm so sorry! I don't know why I kissed you! I know I spoilt everything... I'm sorry,'

I had no idea what to do or say. I couldn't just forget about it, but maybe it was nothing... Ughh! He made things so awkward now!

' Take me home Noah,' I told him, not looking him in the eye, I didn't know what I would do if I did. He just nodded and got into the car.

I got in after him. I strapped my seatbelt on and looked out the window. I needed to think.

Everything was going so well. I met him, we became inseparable.

But I never thought of it any more than friendship, I always thought of Noah as a very, very, very close friend. Nothing more.

But now.... he's gone and done this.

I didn't know what to think anymore. I had mixed emotions running all through me like bubbles. Everytime I thought of something, it burst, and changed into something new.

I had to tell Sarah and Tiana. I never hid anything from them, they had to know. They would also tell me what to do, and maybe they would distract me from thinking about today.

But first, I had answers to find.

I turned to Noah and said,' Why?' he looked at be, and back at the road. 'What,' he said. 'Don't be stupid Noah. Why did you do what you did? Why did you kiss me?' I asked him, almost accusingly. I wanted to know. I needed to know.

'I... I don't know Gab... I really dont,' he said. Now I was angry. 'Look at me Noah. You've just made things complicated, now every time I look at you, I'll remember this, this awkward and completely wrong kiss. You cant just do this to your best friend and tell her you don't know why! That's utter rubbish,'

'Well then.. rubbish it is,' Noah said, and continued driving.
I sighed in frustration! This boy was getting on my nerves!

Finally we reached my home. I was going to get out of the car, when Noah stopped me by holding my hand. 'Just remember, Answers come to you...
eventually. You just have to wait for the right moment,'

'I'm done waiting Noah, I need answers, I need them the moment they're asked, My life's turned completely upside down, and I need to hold on somewhere. I need to know something', I said, and got out of the car. I walked to the door, not looking back.

I was home. It felt so long since I was here last, even though it was just two days...

'Shit! I forgot to call Sarah and Tiana and tell them I'm okay...,' I thought as I picked up my phone, and dialed Tiana's number. I know it was just six in the morning, and they won't even be awake yet, but I decided to take the chance.

'Tiana?,' I asked cautiously.... I was stepping into the Lion's den here. I needed to be alive after the phone call.

'GAB! THAT YOU? WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN? NOAH CAME HOME SEARCHING FOR YOU LAST EVENING. I HAD NO IDEA WHERE YOU WERE? WHAT WERE YOU DOING? CANT YOU PICK UP THAT THING YOU CALL A PHONE THAT YOU CARRY AROUND IN YOUR POCKET! GIRL!', Bad Idea. She sounded like an elephant trumpeting right into my ear. I had to hold the phone a mile away.

'Tiana, can you come over? I need to talk to both of you. There's a lot that has happened in the last twelve hours. Just come. Tell Sarah I have food,' I heard Tiana fumbling on the other end.

' I'm on my way . I call Sarah,' she said, and I heard a door slam. The call ended, and I sighed.

Next..

A bath. I felt stinky, and I probably was too. I entered the bathroom, and prepared myself for a well deserved steaming hot bubble bath.

I was dressed and ready in sweats and a baggy T-shirt when the doorbell rang. I hopped down the stairs and walked towards the door. I opened it , and the two devils barged it, and started firing questions at me. 'Where where you?' 'Why happened?' 'Why didn't you answer your phone?' I just sighed and dragged Tiana up the stairs, and left Sarah to go get the food.

When we were all sitting on my bed in my room, I started telling them all that had happened, leaving the kissing part for the last.

When I finished telling them about what had happened, they just kept opening and closing their mouths like a goldfish. 'You were kidnapped...,' Tiana said slowly, as if she was learning a new word. I nodded.

'Noah saved you...,' Sarah countered. I nodded again. 'So... technically, he saved your life,' she said.

'Yup. To a certain extent,' I said.
'Something's wrong... What happened Gab?' Tiana asked, staring at me.

I sighed and told her everything that I had left out. After I was done, they were looking at each other knowingly.

'What,' I asked them. They didn't say anything. I ignored it.

I decided to skip school that day, and just laze around at hime, and try to get some sleep.

Both of them said that they were joining me, and Sarah was OK because she could happily pig out on all the food at home. I was glad they were there with me. Even though Sarah was here mainly for the food, I was happy by just being with them

I had been awake for a long time now, but I didn't think I would be drifting off anytime soon.
We had a Harry Potter movie marathon, and I almost felt better. Almost.

At the end of the sixth movie, I found my eyelids slowly close, and I snuggled up to Tiana a little more, and fell asleep.
