Addison's Pov 

We arrived at LA where my dad decided to live with his family just a few towns away from me and mom ,saying he wanted to be closer .

Dean rented a car for us to use around here and we loaded our bags in it .

I still can't believe that i've asked him to come with me ,my dad is going to flip out of his mind when he finds out i have a boyfriend and didn't tell him ,i just said i'm bringing a friend but not my boyfriend 

i think i did that to piss him off on purpose ,it became a habit of mine to do anything to see the disappointment in the eyes of the man i once considered my father  

"you're awfully quiet "Dean remarked from the driver's seat ,he gripped my hand in his "and you're shaking "his worried eyes glanced at me "what's wrong ?"

i was shaking pretty hard ,it's my reaction every time i ride a car "i ...i'm afraid of riding cars "i admitted quietly 

"what ?"he seemed confused as hell and he should be ,i wasn't making any sense 

"it's like how some people are scared of the dark ,i'm scared of riding cars "i explained and he frowned 

"was this fear always there ?"he asked ,and i knew what he was doing ,he wanted the reason behind my fear but i wasn't ready to talk about it 

"no ,just recently "i said shortly without adding anything and he didn't question again ,i really appreciated that about him ,he's being patient and understanding . 

"so i'm assuming you're bringing me home to your dad so he'll lose his shit ,right ?"he joked changing the subject and i laughed 

"pretty much yeah ,and also because i don't know how i'm going to spend a week alone with him and his family "i answered ,the thought of them making me shudder 

"i take it they're not your favorite people "he said "you didn't tell me anything of what i'm going out against here "he joked 

i sighed "there is Nicole ,my dad's wife ,she's kind of a bitch "

he laughed "got it ,Nicole is a bitch "

i nodded "her oldest son Jason is great ,he has always been nice to me "

Dean raised an eyebrow "yeah i bet "he muttered and i sniffled a laugh at his jealous tone 

"he graduated last year and now he's working his ass off to become a CEO  "i added 

"he's working for your dad's company ?"he asked 

"not at all  ,Jason hated my dad since he found out what he did to me and my mom "i added ,Jason has always been great toward me and acted like a big caring old brother

"you talk about the guy like you're in love with him or something  "Dean muttered and i grinned at his angry tone 

"i do love him "i said and he growled making me laugh "as my big brother "i continued and he relaxed a little "were you jealous ?"

"of course i'm jealous ,i want to be the only guy you talk about with admiration "he said "no scratch that ,i want to be the only guy you ever talk about "he smirked "and we're getting there, don't worry  "

i rolled my eyes "you're making it very difficult by being a jerk all the damn time "

he laughed "what can i say ?it's a gift "

i snorted "more like a big pain in the ass "

he laughed again "have i told you lately how i love that naughty mouth of yours "

i froze ,he's been using the word love a lot lately and it's freaking me out , i thought we still had a long way to the word love ,but he's been saying these things like i love your eyes ,i love your smile ... and i'm scared from where he's heading , i'm scared of what my reaction would be .

I cleared my throat "There is Ashley too ,who's a Freshmen like me in Princeton "i said through greeted teeth ,Ashley wasn't my biggest fan ,and honestly the feelings are mutual

"let me guess ,she's a bitch too "he joked and i glared at him 

"i'm not making this up ,his family hates me except for Jason and Lola maybe ..."

"Lola ?"

"yeah ,she's 15 and the coolest kid "i answered "Ashley thinks that  i'm here to steel her dad away ,which is crazy considering he's my dad not hers "i snapped ,my chest heaving and my heart beating wildly with these buried emotions 

"Babe  "Dean squeezed my hand "i do believe you .i'm your boyfriend ,i'll always have your back no matter what ,you have to understand that  "he said his eyes serious and begging me to believe him and i did so i nodded with a smile       

i noticed that we're almost there and i give Dean the final directions .as he drives down the long winding driveway ,the house comes into view ,every single window blazing with light .

there are about a bazillion windows ,the house is so damn big ,and it's making a grand impression .Worry slams into me and i steel a few glances in Dean's direction to see his reaction and i can see his frown and the tension coming off his body  is obvious 

Reality is hitting, i guess .It's happening to me too .that i have to go into that house and face my demons .Totally dramatic ,but shit .It's the truth 

This isn't going to be a comfortable visit .

Dean's Pov 

My palms are sweating and i feel like i'm going to throw up .i'm so fucking nervous about meeting her dad because i want him to accept me as Addison's boyfriend ,i know she doesn't have strong feelings for the guy but he's still her father and his opinion matters 

i pull the car in front of the closed garage and cut the engine ,letting the silence envelop us for a second .

"Dean "Addison's voice breaks the silence "are you okay ?you're breathing funny "

Great "i'm fine "i say on a exhale ,desperate not to show her that i'm nervous as shit 

i turn to face her "are you ready to face the music? "i ask  and she shakes her head pressing her lips together 

"i get it that you hate this family ,but i'm here for you babe .If you need to get away from them ,even for five minutes ,i'll help you "i reassured her squeezing her hand

"We should have a code word or something "she muttered 

i frowned "a code word ?" 

"Yeah "she nodded her eyes lighting up like she's really getting into this "For example ,my dad is being an asshole ,telling me i should focus more on my studies and forget about dancing and asking what i want to do with my life .Or Ashley is being her bitch self as usual,and i can't take it any longer .i'll just say pancakes and you'll interrupt and pull me out of there "

A reluctant smile tugs at my lips "Pancakes ?"    

"Totally random ,right ? it makes no sense .That's what makes it better "her smile grows and so does mine ,Christ she's adorable  

but then she frowns "but what if you're not around ?"

" text me Pancakes .wherever i'm at , i'll come running "I have a feeling i'll never let her out of my sight ,but i know that's impossible 

"you'd really do that for me ?"Her eyes meet mine ,and they're glowing ,they're so bright and pretty .Fuck , my girl is gorgeous and i'm happy she's all mine 

"Babe ,i'll do anything for you "i promised her .
