Two shades of difference

Him, and her,

Two shades of difference,

Two of the same difference,

Yet two shades.

One of dark blue,

The other of dark green.

Neither truly the same,

Yet both a darker shade of difference.

Her rare loneliness,

His rare sociality.

Admiration of either one they had,

Yet respect for themselves they held.

Each one holding the other above themselves,

Neither owning up to the newfound position.

Both wanting an ending,

An ending the other could provide.

Both in fear of not living up to it.

Yet at the end of their story,

The ending was clear,

He had won.

She had won.

Together, triumphant against the world's odds.
