“You know of Lauren Rosewood?” my mother asked.
“Of course! CAO agents are required to have some idea of the history of all species under Court district.” I said.
Lauren Rosewood was an Akito witch who lived in the 1600s. Even though she was known a pure blood in the Akito witch family she still felt she wanted more power and she began stealing the souls of humans and other witches which did little to raise her power. She became rather desperate and made a deal with a demon and traded her soul for the ability to control black magic. But it came with a price. Her humanity. She began placing curses on random people and she some of her black magic’s effects stuck to those she cursed, including a small group of young girls who were fascinated with voodoo and they began having visions and were pulled into sudden trances. A few towns’ folk knew of witches and instantly knew who to place the blame on. Thus began the Salem Witch Trials.
Most Akito witches were able to avoid being hung but those that didn’t simply revived their souls when they were in spirit form which Wiccans saw as defying nature and was a clear sign that Akito’s had far too much power.
Wiccan’s then banded together and created the curse on Akito’s ability to revive themselves since they couldn’t do much on their actual abilities. The Wiccan’s knew they couldn’t do this curse on their own so they gained assistance from Ragnarok and he helped them create the curse.
The Wiccans knew that when an Akito witch tried to revive themselves that they’d become Death Demons but they thought that this fate would frighten the witches from trying to. Little did they know they’d helped create a new species of Death Demons. One much more deadly than any other
It wasn’t until about a hundred years later that other supernaturals realized the danger Akito witches posed and then began the hunting of them along with the near extinction.
Many don’t realize that this all was caused by Lauren Rosewood who was able to avoid the trials and fled the town. Many say her dark magic was the cause for her end.
I shook my head. “I must admit now I'm not too proud of my origins but—“
“Then you see why that magic is evil and you can’t use it!” my mother shouted.
“Magic can’t be good or bad. It depends on how you wield it and I haven’t used any dark magic.”
“It doesn’t matter! Stop using magic—“
“Why are you trying so hard?” I demanded.
“Because you're my daughter and I won’t lose you again!”
“I am no daughter of yours!”
