Monday Late Morning...
Christian Anthony's POV:
I spent the whole morning talking with Imee about her experiences back when she was healthy. Knowing that she's smart, I asked her random questions about general knowledge and mathematics, my most hated subject...and she answered it all...
"You know, Anthony, hating one subject is not because of lack of knowledge...it's about ignorance." Imee uttering some words of wisdom to me. "You're being traumatized by dizzy numbers and solutions that you didn't know about its real potential. How about you try to understand it once again, but this time you should do it more slowly...step by step, I mean."
"...sigh...perhaps you should help me then. I suck in Math."
"Why, certainly! Hehehe!" Imee giggled as my face blushes in embarrassment.
"Tok! Tok! Tok!" Suddenly, a knock at a door is heard. I stood up and and approached it.
"Coming!"
I opened the door and saw a young nun, exhausted and gasping for air. Perhaps she came running towards Imee's room...because she has something important to say...
"Umm...madam? Are you alright?"
"Oh! Ehehehe...huff...I'm sorry, it's just...huff...I'm just catching me breath." The young nun smiled as she recomposes herself. "Anyway...huff...are you...huff...Christian Anthony Gonzales?"
"Yes, certainly. What can I do for you?"
"Um...huff...Father Jean wants to see you in front of the church." The young nun told me. "He has something you must do for Imee to get closer with each other. Don't worry, I'll cover her while you're away."
Smiling at the nun, I complied to her directive and tap her shoulder.
"I trust you, milady. Take care of her, okay?"
"Yes, Kuya Anthony!"
I walked out of the church...for the first time, I left the premises ever since the day I just came out of prison. From that time, she had already starting to change my life...I'm starting to learn something from her...about not giving up...and accepting God into my life. I wonder what new things will she will teach me.
"Good morning, Anthony." Father Jean greets me at the entrance. "How's Imee right now?"
"Well, she's currently resting and being tendered by a nun." I tell Imee's situation. "And I think I'm starting to earn her trust."
"You know, she can sense how really kind a person is. If she knows that this person is rude, she would just won't talk. Besides, aside from the children, nobody liked her because of her condition." Father Jean explains. "But ever since she met you...I can see that she's begins to open up to some friends like you."
"Oh...I see, I suppose that we are both misunderstood by the people...good thing that you should up. Thank you, Father."
"Don't sweat it, son. I'm just doing my job as the pastor." He then shows me a wheelchair. "By the way, let me show you some new blessings for the lady."
