2nd Sunday of Easter
Third Person's POV:
I just saw one of the evils in the world from the comforts of my home...but I'm scared to tell everyone about it...
Last night, I saw a young woman gets stolen of her bag...and raped...almost to her death. The poor woman is walking in a dimly-lighted street alone...when a group of crooks started to follow her. When the woman sensed the danger, she attempts to run away from them...but a man grab her arm and grappled her to the ground.
And while others steal her bag, jewelry...and even her expensive watch, the man that grabbed her sits down...and...and...WAAAAH!!!! He's pla-playing...se-sex with her!!!
WAAAAAH!!! I can't take this anymore!!! I-It's too...AAAAAH!!! I'm gonna hide forever!!! Please...please...anybody...please save that girl from the hell that she's had! Huhuhu!!!
Imee Therese's POV:
"The message for today is simply faith."
I engaged with another cathecism session with the kids.
" 'Blessed are those who didn't see but believes', this is the best testament that all of us should achieve. The Lord has long been gone since He's resurrected...He's now with God the Father...to judge the living and the dead, whether they are true to their commitment in believing in Him."
"But yes, we can't escape from the fact that we are doubting the Lord once in awhile, just like Thomas. There would still be challenges that attempts to undermine our faith to God...or being tempted by the Devil to do stupid things...but when God appears right before us...through everyday things in life, you will see why Thomas believes in Him...especially when He shows His hands and feet with wounds of the cross where He died. Come...let us touch the Lord, touch Him into our lives...and we shall be blessed..."
"Ate Imee! Ate Imee!!!" Suddenly, I heard a distressing call for me.
"Huh?"
Then I heard footsteps, coming fast towards me...and when it stops right in front of me, somebody holds my hands.
"Ate Imee, you had to help me!" The panicking lady pleas to me.
"Yes, certainly." I smiled, trying to calm her down. "What can I do for you?"
"My daughter...sniff...she's in the ICU...sniff...she's been raped...sniff...by a group of foolish men...sniff...and...sniff...she's dying!!!" The lady knelt and cried at me. "Can you please...sniff...at least help her...sniff...ease the pain...sniff...please...sniff...I beg of you! I know you are the one who make that Eucharistic miracle, I saw it from the news! I traveled from the nearby town just to seek your help so please...sniff...please...sniff..."
"Don't worry, madam. Let's see what God can do. I will do my best."
Catherine's POV:
I joined Imee and Anthony as we make our way into the hospital. The lady provided us some transportation by offering us a ride in her passenger van. It took us half-hour before reaching the place. Upon arrival, we'be been drove straight to the room where the daughter of the needy lady is...and I'm horrified by the scenes that I saw...
Her face is bloodied, there are scratches and lacerations all over her body...and right now, she's literally gasping for air. The doctors pumped her chest in aid of her laboured breathing...but as time goes by, the daughter of the needy lady begins to slow down in her breathing...the doctors exerted more efforts to save her life but...her heart stopped beating, they pronounced her dead.
"No! No! NOOOO!!!!" The lady rushes to her daughter, hugs her dead body and sobbed.
The pain of losing someone who adored the most is more tragic...when she is a victim of a crime. My feelings right now is a mix of grief and anger...the grief of somebody who died right before my very eyes...and the anger for those shameless people who committed such crimes.
"Lord...forgive those sinners...for they didn't know what they have done to this poor lady."
I looked at Imee and saw her speaking those words. I feel kinda worried because it's a bit awkward...
"Umm...Imee, this is not the time to say such words." I reprimanded her a bit. "You should comfort the lady in these times of grief!"
"But...I'm already comforting her." Imee quickly refuted.
"Well, how do you do that? You're not telling me to come over her." Anthony then complains.
But Imee didn't answer back; instead she closed her eyes and prayed...
"Lord...just like You did to believe Thomas that You have risen from the dead, help us to touch You, touch You into our hearts and lives, and believe on Your true power. Help us to accept Your power...and be enlightened by Your plans. Then, I pray...that You will comfort this grieving lady, and let her touch You...so that she could believe in You for the rest of her life."
And when Imee speaks something inaudibly, the dead body starts to twitch...and starts to breathe again. Then, her eyes are opened...and gazed to her mother.
"Mom...please help me."
Those first words make her mother smiled, while shedding tears...tears of joy. The mother then puts up her handkerchief and began to wiped her daughter's bloodied face.
"Don't worry, sweetie. You're alright now."
The doctors returned to saw their patient alive again...they were amazed by this development. But when they asked why it happened, Imee has something to say...
"There's no particular reason, my friends." Ate Imee simply concluded. "It's just praying to God. You should know that a prayer works! Hehehe!"
For Imee, her intercession to God that make another miracle...of bringing back a person back to life...is kept as a secret to show how great God is. But for the mother who witness how her daughter started to breathe again, perhaps she will tell her neighbors about the miracle that Imee has did to her...
And as for the conversation earlier...
"Umm...Imee, I'm sorry if I doubted you earlier." I apologized to her. "I'm just filled with emotion back there...with grief...with anger..."
"Yeah. Me too, Imee." Anthony also apologizes.
"Hehehe! That's fine!" She eases it off with a smile. To tell you frankly, I actually doubt myself whether what I could do to them. I mean I feel sorry for her...and those...who...maltreated her...woah!!!
"Imee!!!" Her body lost balance and was about to slumped at her lap. Good thing that Anthony caught her. "Imee, are you alright?"
"Hehehe! I'm fine, don't worry. I'm just a bit overwhelmed. Hehehe!"
