Pentecost Sunday
Christian Anthony's POV:
"Receive the Holy Spirit!"
This is one thing that has been ringing in my head for the entire day. I don't know why...but it might be useful for whatever things will happen today.
"AAAAAH!!! A SNATCHER!!!"
And then from beyond the doors of the church, I hear a shriek of help. I hurriedly run to know what's going on outside...then I saw a little boy, holding a expensive bag, and running towards me.
"Out of my way! Out of my way!"
I didn't listen to the plea of the little boy...instead I positioned myself to block the oncoming thief until...
"Thuuug!!!" The little boy bumped into me, as if he wants to run even further. But...I intentionally hugged him tightly to prevent him to let go.
"HEY! GET OFF ME!!!"
The boy tries to fight back. I had enough of him...so I make a suplex to neutralize him...just like what I did when I was in the police.
"AAAAAH!!!!" The boy cries in pain and surrenders. "Alright! Alright! I'll stop!!!"
The cops then enters the church and cuffs the boy's hands. But as they begin to take him away....
"Oh! Gentlemen, he's just a minor." I tried to persuade them. "Please, let me handle him by myself, just give the handbag that he stole."
For a moment, the policemen stares at me...then they realized something about me...
"Oh! SPO3 Gonzales, is that you?" They finally recognized me. "Okay, okay. We'll let you deal with him."
Taking the stolen handbag from the little boy, the police went in their way. As for the little boy, still handcuffed, I let him sit in the back pew.
"Okay, mister. What did you do this time?" I tried to interrogate the little boy. "Why you do such a thing? You're young...you shouldn't be doing this!"
"But...sniff...I had no choice...sniff..."
Suddenly, the little boy broke down to tears...I'm just asking why he did something wrong...but because of this, I look like a meany bully!
"Is there something wrong?"
Then, I heard a familiar voice, I turned around and I saw Imee, approaching towards us. I recently installed a controller so she could move her wheelchair through her chin, since she can now able to see...
"Umm...I was trying to interrogate this little boy." I tried to explain everything. "He just stole a handbag from a lady."
Despite my reason, Imee pouts at me...
"Well, whatever this kid has done, you should treat him nicely, you know. He's still a child of God despite all of this!"
Imee then wheels herself to the little boy and try to interrogate him for herself...
"Cheer up, kid. He doesn't meant to be angry at you." Imee motivates the boy. "Could you please tell me your reasons for doing something bad? Don't worry, I will not judge you."
With a smile in Imee's face, the boy became motivated to tell it all...
"I steal because I have no choice...I need something to survive." The little boy explains. "I live alone, I have no parents...everyday, I live at the edge. That's why I forced myself to stealing anything that has value. I don't care if I will be get caught, I just want to have some money so I could eat at least thrice a day..."
"Well, why you should fight over material things that you cannot bring in heaven?" Imee replies to him. "I understand that you're doing this to survive but...is this God really wanted you to do?"
"Huh? I don't understand...who is God? I mean, I never heard of that person at all. Does he exist? Is he my friend? Will he make me eat thrice a day?"
In such questions like that, I would have been so confused to answer it all. But for a knowledgeable and deeply devoted servant of the church like her...it would be so easy...
Imee Therese's POV:
When I heard the questions from the little boy, I can't stop myself from smiling...
"Well, He will feed you thrice a day. He's your friend!" I smiled at the little boy. "You know, little kid, you could call Him anything you want...I call Him the Good Lord. The Good Lord loves children like you for you understand how great Our Good Lord loves us all. So doing bad stuff like stealing things would make God sad. You don't want to make a friend sad, right?"
The little boy nods as I continue my explanation. "Our Good Lord will give you all that you need, you just have to believe in Him...and that means, you need to be behave, okay?"
"Okay!" The little boy smiles brightly at me. And that's when I closed my eyes and prayed for him...
"O Good Lord, today we celebrate the moment that Your Holt Spirit into Your Apostles to send the everlasting Good News to entire humanity. That Spirit...has became one of the momentous elements in our history...speaking through prophets, changing a puny person inyo a great hero, and making the world a better place. Now, let this boy receive the power of the Holy Spirit...forgive him for his sins...and help him change his life. From being a beggar...to any great person he dreams to be. Amen."
I opened my eyes and turned to Anthony, pouted...
"Umm...my love, could you please untie the little boy's hands and let him go?"
"Oh! Wha-why yes, certainly."
Anthony complies on what I tell him...he set the little boy free. And as the kid prepares to leave the church, I smiled at him saying...
"Okay, kid. How about you return next Sunday and join in our cathecism sessions with me. But you should promise me not to steal anything again, okay?"
"Yes, milady! Hehehe!"
With the kid left the church, I turned my eyes back at Anthony. I could still remember how he awfully scolded the kid.
"Well, dare to explain?" Wheeling myself towards him, I make an evil grin towards my meany love.
"Wa-wait! I do don't meant to hu-hurt him! I ju-just wanted to know the truth!"
"Well, you're using your interrogation skills as a policeman...but that's not how you deal with a kid!":
"...sigh...I'm sorry, Imee." Anthony humbles himself and apologize. "You're lucky that you have could able to talk to kids like that."
"Don't worry about it, Anthony. I'll help you about it as hard as I can." I smiled to assure him. "Alright, I forgive you. By the way, let's return to our room!"
But I noticed...that Anthony's not feeling so well and...
"Okay, because for now...I look...so sick...ugh..."
"Whoa! Anthony! ANTHONY!!!!"
