chapter 19

Jace's POV
       I pull up at Peyton's driveway and instantly feel like this was a bad idea. I walk up to the front door and knock; Julia opens it. She looks at me and whispers 'what are you doing here?' I scratch the back of my head and say 'I just wanna talk to Peyton.'~she nods and holds the door wider. I walk up to the backyard and see Peyton practicing her throws. I lean against the door frame and admire how dedicated she is. She turns around and drops the ball. She picks up the ball and keeps throwing and says 'yes, Jace?' I come back to reality and say 'uh, I just wanted to catch up.'~she laughs. She comes closer and says 'what do you really want?' I fix my cap and say 'why did you choose Noah over me?'~she moves back. She looks down and says 'because he actually spends time with me. Even though he makes music; he finds time.'~ I furrow my eyebrows.
I move closer to her and say 'so it was just about time?'~she shakes her head. She grabs her things and says 'Jace, I don't really like talking about this.'~ I grab her arm and look into her eyes. I whisper 'you're unbelievable.'~ I walk out of her house. I sped to the studio and head to the set. I grab my script and read my lines. I was walking back and forth when I walk into a girl. I pick up my script and see a girl around my age.~she blushes. I clear my throat and say 'are you new here?'~she nods. She says 'we're filming our movie here.'~she points to a studio. I look into her eyes and say 'I'm Jace.'~I roll up my script. She smirks and says 'Danielle.' Her phone rings and she checks it and says 'well, gotta go. I'll see you soon.'~she walks away.
Danielle's POV
We finish up the last scenes of the day and I head to the back area. I push the doors open and I find myself in a studio; there a store and a weird technology room. I hear talking and I see Jace. I act casual and he approaches me. He sits on the couch and pats the spot next to him; I sit down. He takes off his cap and fixes his hair. He says 'tell me about yourself.' I furrow my eyebrows and say 'well, I'm 16; 17 in April. I do softball and field hockey.'~ he smiles. I take his cap and put it on my head. Jace pulls out his phone and takes a picture of me; gimme my cap back 👅. I take out my phone and take a video of Jace. Jace grabs my phone and takes a picture and posts it.~ I laugh and say 'you're such a dork.'
          I lean against the couch and say 'don't you have a girlfriend?'~he nods. He sighs and says 'we broke up a month ago. I've been free the whole time.' He puts his cap back on and says 'wanna go get froyo or something?'~I nod. We leave the studio and head across the street. Right when we open the front door, Jace freezes. I look in front of him and see a girl. I take Jace's arm and whisper 'come on, we can go somewhere else.'~he shakes his head. We pay for our froyo and sit at the bar table; far away from the other girl. I eat some and say 'is that you ex?'~he nods. I grin and say 'wanna make her jealous?'~ he furrows his eyebrows. I playfully roll my eyes and say 'come on... please.'~he nods.
Peyton's POV
       Noah dabs some froyo on my nose and I laugh. I wipe it away and see a guy with dirty blonde hair; Jace. I see him pull a brunette closer to him and whisper something in her ear.~she laughs. She takes his cap and puts it on; and says 'where are you gonna take me next?' I instantly feel sick. Noah notices and says 'babe, are you feeling ok?~I shake my head. He throws out the trash and holds out his hand~ I take it. He wraps his arm around my waist and whispers 'wanna head to my place and watch a movie?'~I nod. We leave and I see Jace and the brunette leaning against the wall. The brunette and I make eye contact; she smirks and pulls herself closer to Jace. The pit of my stomach knots; am I jealous?
          We get into Noah's car and head to his house. During the ride, my phone buzzes; Jacenorman: this girl is a genius. ** picture ** I turn off his notifications and think 'he actually moved on.' We pull up in Noah's driveway and we enter the house. I follow him to his den and sit on the couch. I look around and say 'this is the first time Im at your house.' 😂 Noah smiles and grabs some blankets and some snacks. He cuddles next to me as I flip through Netflix. I kiss Noah's cheek and I say 'you don't have to watch the movie if you don't want to.'~he shakes his head. He kisses the corner of my mouth and says 'I want to.'
