(A/N Warning: There is going to be some vulgar language in this chapter and throughout the rest of the story so if that's not your cup of tea this story probably isn't the best option)
ALYA'S POV
I'm woken up by the horrible noise that signals it's time for me to get myself up, and attempt to look somewhat decent for school. Obviously I press the snooze button and drop my head back onto my pillow.
I've probably pressed the snooze button about four or five times when I realize I have to leave for school in twenty minutes.
"Shit!" I mutter to myself as I jump out of bed.
I quickly throw on a baggy sweatshirt, along with some skinny jeans. I don't even bother to do makeup, so instead I dash down the stairs to somehow make myself some breakfast. As I go to reach for the loaf of bread to make toast, I notice a familiar note hung up on the fridge.
Hey Alya, sorry I wasn't there this morning. I had to go to work early, and I won't be home until late. Order pizza if you want.
xoxo dad
It's the same thing everyday. My dad's the only parent I have left since my whore of a mom died a year ago from alcohol poisoning. We all knew it would happen someday, and it finally did.
Not long after I finish eating, a car beeps outside my house. I run out and as usual Bianca and Miles are here to give me a ride.
Ugh, Miles. One of the most self-centered people I've ever met. It's hard to believe that someone like him is related to Bianca. I hate being around him, but getting a ride is better than walking so I take what I can get.
He attempts to stifle a laugh as I climb into the car, but fails. I can't stand him.
"I can tell someone slept in today." He says smirking.
"Excuse me?"
"You just don't look very... presentable." He replies, laughing at the end.
"Fuck you." I mumble.
"Hello to you too." He says sarcastically.
We spend the next five minutes just sitting in silence listening to whatever was on the radio. Bianca snaps around when she notices I'm humming along to one of the songs, and wears an excited expression on her face.
"What?" I question.
"You're humming!" She exclaims.
"And?"
"Humming is close to singing!"
"I've already told you this. I don't sing anymore. I can't."
"Woah woah woah. Alya used to sing? It's probably a good thing you can't anymore." Miles says, butting into the conversation.
"Oh shut up Miles. It's not like you can do any better." Bianca replies.
"Actually I can, considering I got into the singing program at Keaton." He says with a cocky smirk on his face.
"Well Alya did too." Bianca responds.
"Well clearly they need to reevaluate their program considering they let someone into the singing program who can't even sing." Miles spits out, laughing once again.
God, I hate him. I hate him so much.
We finally arrive at school, and I take all my anger out on his car by slamming my door as hard as I possibly can. He screams, almost sounding like a girl, and runs over to my side of the car.
"What did you do?!" He exclaims sounding panicked.
"I've done my job." I respond nonchalantly.
I group back up with Bianca and we walk into Keaton together, with Miles right in front of us. As soon as he takes a step in the entrance he's met with dozens of girls fanning themselves and swooning over him. He takes the time to wink and flirt at almost every one of them as he walks by.
"He's disgusting." I say to Bianca.
"Agreed." She replies.
I head to my first period, chemistry, and sit at my usual lab table. Alone, with no partner obviously. I'm a freak.
Class runs smoothly until the principal barges in, almost looking like she's dragging Miles by the neck. Our teacher walks over and has a short conversation before the principal leaves and doesn't take Miles with her.
"Attention! I'm excited to announce that Miles Lennox will be joining this class." Our teacher says.
I immediately gulp and resist the urge to throw up. I thought he was in physics?
"Let's see hmmm, Miles I'm going to place you next to Alya. This way everyone can have a partner." She says smiling.
You've got to be kidding me.
Miles makes his way over to me wearing an even bigger smirk than the one earlier this morning.
"Hey loser. Looks like I get to be your partner now." He says while taking a seat next to mine.
I scoff and look away, hopefully giving him the message that I want nothing to do with him.
"Don't be so upset. Maybe now we'll finally be able to see how good our 'chemistry is' if you know what I'm saying." He says winking at the end.
"I have more chemistry with Bianca's sock than I do with you." I reply.
"Hmm we'll just have to see about that, won't we babe?"
