I had completely forgotten about embarrassing Mason- although I did keep it in the back of my mind for later. I also completely forgot about Will. Actually, I pretty much forgot about everything as I grabbed Mason by the arm and dragged him towards the black sleek BMW parked about a block away from the actual party.

Then I had proceeded to angrily drive home before going into the hall and marching straight up to my room. I even slammed the door for emphasis and everything.

Mason had come to check on me a couple of times but I wouldn’t let him come in. I was too angry to hear whatever he had to say which was probably something along the lines of either, bullsh*t, wise crap, or an annoying smug response. Either way I wanted nothing to do with it.

That night I spent the whole time staring at my-recently discovered- incredibly boring eggshell white ceiling and wondering what the heck Julie was talking about. I mean did she really tell Rachel about me being a virgin? Is this how Rachel had known- my own best friend? Was it Julie who caused all this crap? Because it’s barely started and I’m already sick of it.

After relentlessly tossing and turning in my puffy green comforters (only to end up kicking them on the ground and rolling on my belly) I finally drifted off into a troublesome sleep.

                And now you ask.

Well, now I’m back at school. Mason’s close behind seeing that he usually drives my car to school if he feels like actually showing up on time. Today was one of those days and, even though he denied it thoroughly, I have a feeling it’s because he doesn’t want to miss what will happen between Julie and I.

I sigh, to tell you the truth I have no idea what will happen. Sure, I’m mad, but at the same time this is Julie I’m talking about. I know lately Maren and Julie don’t seem to be the best of friends, but they are. They’ve been there for a very long time and both of them have helped me in other low points in life.

Julie for example, when my father’s business had hit a low point and we almost everything, she was there to offer a smile and a distraction. She took me out, paying for the both of us, and offering sincere company. She even put up with Mason- knowing it would make me happy to have them both with me- not that Julie necessarily hates Mason as much as Maren does. Actually Julie simply finds him a bit of a douche (which I can't disagree with). But anyways...that’s only one of the things I could never repay her for.

But now I know she’s been lying to me- for a long time. Sure, I figured Julie wasn’t exactly the brain dead puppy dog we all cut her out to be, but I didn’t think she was exactly- well that. The Julie I saw throwing some cocktail at Jason Reef- one of the biggest douches on the planet. And I have a feeling that’s not all she’s hiding.

“Julie,” I say as I reach our usual meeting place- the big, bare willow tree.

From the corner of my eye I see Mason lean on the trunk a look of excitement on his face.
