School was okay for the past week. Rachel laid back since Kate came into the picture and simply ignored my presence and trust me I much preferred it that way. Maren and Julie who happen to be in most of my classes made me laugh and we had fun like normal friends do. Mason went back to his usual routine of walking me to my class before and after lunch, but none of his other routines returned. He always seemed to be with Kate, well except on Tuesdays where the both of us made or went out to eat a taco. Other than that I didn’t see Mason much.

On the other hand Will and I continued to go on small dates. We went to ice cream shops, lakes, leafy forests, the beach, etc. I liked the views and peaceful talks with him. He made me laugh and I always looked forward to see his amazed face when he found something particularly beautiful. Plus seeing his muscles ripple under his shirt when we went hiking was always a plus.

Besides laughing, talking, and the occasional peck here and there nothing happened for me to truly know if there was sparks between us. I mean I liked being around him, when we went somewhere I can’t keep a smile off my face, and sometimes when he holds my hand and we watch something like the sun set behind the beach I get strays of chills- the good kind of course.

But… sometimes I find myself comparing it to how I feel around Mason...and so far it's pretty much the same.

“I think I’m in love,” Julie whispers under the huge willow tree.

I look at her in surprise. Julie isn’t dating anyone or even crushing on someone. At least she never mentioned it.

“With who?” I ask as Julie grins and lets out a mournful sigh.

She tips her head back onto the tree trunk and then smiles again.

“It’s just the way he makes me feel. Joy bubbles inside of me when he’s around. And when we kiss- damn, it’s just amazing- and just holding his hand is enough to make my hair stand on end- out of excitement of course. I just know, you know? And I’ve seen things and done things with him that I’ll never be able to get out of my head. He’s showed beauty even in the smallest of places.” Julie, who had been talking quite enthusiastically and rapidly, let’s out a short breath, “I’m just in love.”

I feel happy for her, but at the same I can’t help but wonder why she just won’t tell me who it is. The curiosity is killing me now.

“Hey chicas, what’s up?” Maren asks sitting down on the ground in front of us.

She’s awfully cheerful for someone who’s not a morning person.

“Julie’s in love,” I say as Julie nods her head in agreement.

Since our Mason-free days started Julie, Maren, and I tell each other everything without judgment or criticism.

“Oooo,” Maren says like a little kid, “With who?” she asks me since Julie seems to have drifted off into la la land.
