                I take a deep breath, “You’ve all been pranked,” I start over deciding it’s the best thing to do.

                “What?” a few people call out looking confused.

                I give everyone a small smile only to have it disappear when I see Mason coming down the hill towards the field.

                Alright Alex, make it quick.

                “Mason and I made a bet,” I continue starting to talk a bit faster, “We wanted to see if you would all believe that we dated. It was stupid really,” and then deciding to milk the situation I proceed with, “Of course I won,” I give everyone a wide grin as a few people chuckle, “I knew you all would believe that we’re going out. So anyways, the point is, we aren’t really a couple and all of you helped me make some cash. Thanks,” I chirp before handing Will the microphone and heading off the soccer field.

                In the distance Mason waves at me. I give him a small smile before I take a seat on the bleachers and prepare for the big soccer game. I sure hope Stanton wins or else Christmas break will be pretty bleak.

                “So it was all just a bet?” Christina Roberts- a small brunette with cute square black glasses, wide green eyes, and an oversized black and white sweatshirt asks sitting next to me on the cold steel bleachers.

                Christina is a nice girl, a bit nerdy, but very social. Plus, her sense of style is just downright adorable.

                “Yup,” I reply popping the p.

                She smiles at me slightly before looking deep in thought, “Could have had me fooled. You guys looked so in love,”

                I pretend I don’t hear her words and instead I simply retort with, “Well it was in my favor to look like it,” I say.

                She grins, “So how much did you get from him?” she asks giving me a mischevious look.

                I return the look, “Enough for a new pair of sneaks, a purse, and some make-up,” I respond making that up on the spot.

                “Niceee,” she compliments and then looks deep in thought again.

                “Wait, so did you really lose your virginity to him, then?” she asks and then widens her eyes, “Oh gosh, I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t pry,” she adds quickly.

                I shrug, “It’s no big deal and yeah um let’s just say I really don’t drink,”

                She laughs, “Tell me about it. I’m like an airhead when I do. Actually I think I tried flying once…,”

                I laugh at her. How come we aren’t friends?

                “Wow,”

                “Well, I’ll see you around Alex. I have to go cheer my boyfriend on like a maniac now,” she giggles looking out into the field at a boy with shaggy blonde hair and the brightest blue eyes I’ve ever seen. He’s lean with some build and pretty tall- definitely handsome. I think his name is Chris.

                “You guys look like the perfect match,” I comment softly more to myself, but Christina hears.

                “I like to think we are,” she gives me one last wave before jogging over to the edge of the field and starting to scream.
