“Holy sh*t!” I scream running towards Greg hoping Mason will follow me.

I hear him give a shaky sigh before he pulls the Grayton dude off Greg and I’m kneeling down in front of him.

“Are you okay?” I ask wincing as I see the blood flow from his nose.

Not knowing what else to do I pull out my napkin from my hotdog earlier and hand it to him. He puts it on his nose as he continues to groan in pain.

“There, there,” I say patting his shoulder awkwardly.

                Gosh, I suck at this.

“Hey dude do you need a hand up?” I suddenly hear Mason ask Greg.

I turn to see the Grayton dude on the ground withering and the rest of the football team around him in case he gets anymore ideas. I then trail my eyes to see Mason's knuckles already starting to swell a little. I roll my eyes before focusing back on Greg.

Greg slowly nods his head as Mason gets in front of him and pulls him up by his shoulders.

I watch slightly in awe as the crowd disperses giving room for Mason to half drag half carry Greg onto the bleachers. Once Greg’s situated and the nurse has been called Mason jogs over to the middle of the field- where I happen to be standing.

“You would so suck at a nurse,” he states smirking.

I roll my eyes at him knowing that what he said was absolutely true.

“We can’t be good at everything,” I mumble.

“Yeah,” he scoffs and then adds, “Especially you,” in a teasing tone.

I punch the side of his shoulder before I hear him sigh.

“Mind explaining what the hell happened while I was at practice?”

I grimace before grumbling out a response, “I kind of do mind,”

“Alex, I’m trying to be patient here,” Mason warns already getting a little tense.

I sigh, “I might have told the school that “we” were just a bet and then Will asked me out. I told him in the future though,” I explain.

“And why would you do that?” he asks cocking an eyebrow.

“Because it would be kind of stupid if I went out with Will now because of rumors-,”

Mason cuts me off, “No stupid, why would you tell people we were just a bet?”

“Because I didn’t know what else to say?” I offer.

“Why say anything at all?” he asks.

“Because you hate it when best friends hook up and go out!” I blurt before covering my mouth.
