A: Such quick feedback! You guys rock :D
Also sorry for the mistakes in any of the more recent chapters, I’m usually really busy when I’m updating and don’t get the chance to edit it, but hey it’s better than nothing right? :P
~Alex~
I wonder why it’s always my first instinct to flee. Maybe it’s because it’s just easier to run, to pretend that reality isn’t happening around me. Sometimes I wish life were just a dream and every time something hurts I can just wake up and already know what to do so that I don’t feel the pain anymore.
Ha. Always filled with wishful thinking.
I would have kept running too. If it isn’t for the fact that after running from Mason’s house my feet somehow carried me directly home. Maybe it’s because our houses are so close together.
I’m about to run down the road and to only god knows where, when I see there’s a familiar red truck and a Toyota Prius in my driveway. And almost immediately do I realize that Mason and I had stopped to eat a donut on the way home. Will and Rachel must already be at my house.
So, sucking up my troubles, I take a deep breath and go see Will…and Rachel to finish our project.
“Alright Alex just calm down girl,” I coax before opening the door.
As soon as I’m inside I hear the small racket coming from the kitchen where I’m guessing my mom is making some sort of snack for all of us to enjoy. I feel a small smile tug at the corner of my lips as I picture my mom making some overly complicated snack for us to eat in the matter of minutes. I know it’ll be especially delicious too since she knows Will as my boyfriend and she likes him a lot. She said she wasn’t too sure when she first met him, but now he’s really grown on her. And I’m happy about that…real happy.
It brings a small pang to my heart as I hear something else lightly clatter, but it’s a good one. It’s out of joy and knowing that she cares. After all I’m grateful to have a mom like her, not matter the fact that she’s not home a lot.
Slowly I shake my head to snap myself back into reality before I take off the light jacket I have on and hang it on the coat hanger by the door. Then, I slip off my black ballet flats and take another deep breath before keeping that small smile on my face and walking into the living room…to see my boyfriend.
I bring myself to a halt right before I enter the living room as a feeling of guilt overwhelms me. Here is Will, a nice guy- sure with some history and reputation of having girls fall all over him- but a nice guy no less (unlike a certain someone) and I’m too busy feeling hurt about someone I shouldn’t even like…someone I never even truly felt that way before until I opened my mouth and asked him to sleep with me. How stupid am I?
I have to forget about Mason and focus my attention on who I’m lucky to have- Will. I mean I really do like him, I’ve liked all these little things about him for two years and actually spending time with him has made me like him even more. It’s just that strong ties tie me to Mason. He’s been my everything for too long and it’s just difficult to break away from the thickly weaved chains we’ve built around each other.
I reach into my pocket to get my phone.
Where are you?
