Chapter 2-Where's it heading?

As soon as Karthik came inside CCD he looked around to find Arohi and found her hugging someone. He with a feeling of displeasure walked towards her.

"Hey Karthik! This is Samar,My BF. And Samar this is Karthik..."Arohi gave in a formal introduction. Samar smiled and forwarded his hand for a handshake and Karthik too unwillingly forwarded his hand. Just the words BF struck on his head. He didn't love her but he was... Jealous?or did he love her?

"I hope you won't mind if I join you people" Samar said looking at Karthik.

"Itna formal kyu Ho raha hai? Haq se bol leneka...karthik won't mind.. Hai na?" Arohi asked and Karthik nodded though he didn't like the guy a bit.

Karthik pov- As soon as I entered CcD I saw Arohi hugging someone I don't know why but I didn't like it a bit. Not that the guy was bad or something, but I seriously don't know the reason. Then the guy asked if he could join with us, I so damn badly wanted to say no but then remembered that he's her boyfriend. Oh I didn't know she had one, why do I care? He looked good and was well natured too. But... Ohh forget it. They were discussing about their school days and I realised that they have been together since so long. I felt left out there as they were in their own world so I excused myself saying I need to make a call.

"I guess your friend didn't like me joining you up" Samar blurted out as soon as Karthik left making an excuse.

"Nothing like that.. He might be literally busy" Arohi said looking at his retreating figure which Samar observed.

"So.... Who's he?" Samar asked and arohi gave a surprised look.

"I guess I introduced you sometime back" Arohi replied bluntly.

"True. Don't act as if you didn't understand what I meant to ask. " Samar said glaring at her.

"He's a good friend of mine and our families know each other since years. They share a great bond and we are meeting after more than 3years now and I didn't even know that he's working in the same office. " Arohi said.

"Really arohi? " Samar smirked.

"Okay fine. Think whatever you wanna think. I'm in no mood to argue with you now. I'm leaving. Catch with you later. " Arohi got up annoyed.

"Arohi I need to leave. You guys carry on. " Karthik said as he came in.

"Even I'm leaving" Arohi declared giving an annoyed look to Samar.

"If you wish I could drop you at your hostel." Karthik said unsurely looking at Samar.

"Fine! " saying so arohi walked out of the cafe.

Samar smiled at Karthik "It was nice meeting you" forwarding his hand. "Same here" Karthik replied and left from there confused as to what happened in the 10minutes he was away.

K pov- I don't know what happened after I left that Arohi was pissed off. But Samar literally was cool as if nothing happened between the two. I know Arohi can't stay angry for long with anyone but the time when she's angry it's better not to mess with her. As she stays in a hostel I decided on dropping her. The car journey was silent. She didn't utter a word. I looked at her but She was lost in her own thought, even I thought not to mess up. I played the music player as I was bored.

"Ajeeb daastan hai yeh... Kaha shuru kaha Katam.. " my favourite song played.. N I was enjoying humming along.But the music abruptly stopped. On looking I realised Arohi had switched it off.. I switched on the player again. She gave a annoyed look to me then took out her earphone and plugged in her ears. I smiled remembering our past nokh jokh.

Flashback
Some years back
"Arjun(Arohis dad) let's take a break for sometime from driving, we have a long way to go further" said Gaurav(Karthiks father)

And Gaurav parked the car looking for Shady place. All got down one by one to relax. Arohi moved to the front seat and switched on the music player and was hearing to a soothing music and relaxing. Suddenly..

"Why this kolaveri ...." started playing. She looked up and found Karthik nodding his head along with the song. She changed the song. And Karthik annoyingly again changed the song.

"Muje yeh gaana nai sunna" Arohi said annoyed.
"Toh apne kaan band karlo" Karthik replied.
"Maine Pehle song lagaya ta.. I wanna hear. " Arohi said angrily.

Both continued the fight and kept swapping the songs. Finally wondering who won? Neither because the player stopped working.

"Tumne mera player karaab kia"Karthik said.
"U did it. " Arohi said.
Suddenly Arjun came in and asked
"What's going on kids?Ready to go? "
Both nodded and sat silently with the fear of being caught though both were angry on each other for ruining the music player.
The whole way home both didn't talk to each other in anger.

Finally Karthik dropped arohi near her hostel gate.Arohi just bid a goodbye and left without exchanging any further words.

K pov- Isse kya hua?Hope kal tak normal hojaaye and itni moody na rahe.

Arohi was lost in her thoughts in her room. On the other side Karthik was smiling all by himself in his flat when his phone rang.

"Hello maa.." he said merrily.

"Aaj toh mera beta bohot energetic aur khush lag raha hai after work. Warna toh Office se aate hi takha hota hai bohot" his mother replied on phone hearing which he smiled.

"Aisa kuch bi nai hai maa.. "he tried changing the topic "waise kirti ne Chennai ki trip kyu cancel ki?"

"She's busy this week she said.. Tum bi ho kahaa toh she cancelled the plan. " His mother replied.

"How was your day son? After taking leave for so many days.. Work ka pressure raha hoga na?" Gayatri, his mother enquired concernedly.

"No maa it was a great day. " came in Karthiks reply quickly." I mean theek taa" he tried making up.

Samar on the other side was thinking about today's event and smiling. He remembered karthiks annoyed look on seeing him.

"I know well what am I supposed to do now.. " He told himself planning out something in his head and giving a smirk.
