~Chapter 9~
Amethyst P.O.V
I ran.
I couldn’t stop, not until I knew I was safe. I couldn’t believe I finally escaped that hell.
I couldn’t help the smile that crept up when I remembered the look of horror the Hunters’ faces when I killed them. I went easy on some of them, quickly snapping their necks, but not all of them were that fortunate.
I smirked when I remembered the look in Ben’s face as I ended his life. I made sure he suffered, and enjoyed hearing his screams. Maybe we aren’t so different after all.
I was so busy reminiscing, I didn’t hear the wolf appear.
There three wolves in front of me. One, who was clearly the Alpha, was black. The female was a dark blonde. The one that looked like the Beta was a deep chocolate brown.
They all shifted in front of me. Contrary to popular belief, we do not shift back naked. We shift back wearing the clothes we wore before shifting.
The Alpha took a step closer to me.
“Shift” he commanded.
I whimpered and shook my head, afraid of what he would do to me if I shifted into my human form.
“I said, shift” he snarled, clearly not used to being denied.
I was scared. I knew I couldn’t fight all three of these wolves. The adrenaline I felt when I killed the Hunters had worn off and I could barely stay conscience; the pain from my wounds was hitting me full on. I didn’t know how much longer I could stay standing.
The wolves started comings towards me, thinking I was a threat. My wolf and I started to panic, not wanting to go back to a cell.
Maybe if I fought they would kill me? I would rather be dead than go back to being a prisoner. These were my only options after all, confinement or death.
Death seemed like the best possible solution.
I started feeling dizzy, the effects of the blood loss finally showing itself.
I felt myself shift, right before losing consciousness.

Third Person P.O.V
Liam, the Alpha stood there stunned as he saw the wolf shift. She looked horrible.
She was covered in grime, but underneath it he could see the bruises that covered every inch of her body. He felt sick thinking of who could do this to such a young girl.
Jenna, Liam’s mate and Luna, felt vile rise when she smelled blood. When she saw the young girl, who looked her age if not a year younger, she threw up. She has never had a weak stomach, it’d be hard to when training to be a warrior, but seeing someone as battered as the young girl sickened her. She couldn’t believe someone would ever do this. She felt tears fill her eyes as the thought of all the pain the girl must have endured.
Josh felt anger. While his Alpha and Luna felt pity and sadness he felt hatred towards those who hurt the young girl. He knew there were horrible people in the world, I fact he had killed many of them, but this was different. He had never seen someone as bruised as her. He was sure the Hunters were behind this. Humans wouldn’t be strong enough to hurt her, and he was sure wolves wouldn’t do this to their own kind. At least, he hoped not.
“Alpha” Josh said “what should we do with her?”
Alpha Liam sighed “I don’t know.”
Jenna was suddenly filled with anger “What do you mean you don’t know?” she snarled “you can’t you just leave her here; she’ll die!”
Liam was surprised, his mate was a fighter, but she never yelled. She was shy and quiet when she was outside a battlefield.
“Look, Jenna, we can’t just bring her home. She could be a danger to our pack. You have to understand.”
“Bu-But, look at her!” she said as she finally let the tears flow from her eyes ”if we leave her here she will die. We have to help her.”
Liam’s face softened when he saw his mate’s tears. He hated seeing her upset, and seeing her tears broke his heart. “Okay, we’ll help her, but then we will return her home. Somebody must be looking for her” he said, feeling resigned.
Jenna smiled, happy to be able to help the battered girl.
“Josh help me lift her up, but be gentle. We don’t want to hurt her any more than she already is.
Josh complied, and together, Alpha Liam, Beta Josh, and Luna Jenna took the young girl to their home, all wishing they were making the right decision.
