Chapter 32

Katie’s P.O.V

For the past week, I’ve been moping around. My wolf is both hurt and angry at the thought of Adam with another woman. She keeps sending me images of what she wants to do to Amethyst. Let’s just say it involves knifes and a lot of blood. Her blood.

I’ve contemplated what she told me about me stealing her Mate, and I’m still unsure who to believe. Sure, Amethyst sounded like she was telling the truth, but I know Lucas. He would never do anything like that.

But he did act strange while we were dating…I shook that thought out of my head as quickly as it came. It was just the pressure of being Alpha that made him act like that. Besides, an Alpha would never reject his Luna. It would be too disastrous for the Pack. It would mean our Pack’s downfall.

Luna’s are probably the most important wolves to exist. Sure, the Alpha have the power and take care of the Pack, but the Luna’s maintain a balance. Not only do they keep a leash on their Mates to keep them from becoming power-hungry, but they are also the ones to love, care for, and nurture the Pack members. Without them, many wolves would go rogue. This is also the reason why most Alphas step down after their Mate passes away. They know they are now incapable of leading, and they find someone who can do the job right. Every Pack needs a Luna, but unfortunately, not just any she-wolf can be a Luna. A Luna has to be chosen by the Goddess. The reason to this is because only she knows which she-wolves are strong, caring, and fierce enough to do the job. If an Alpha marks a she-wolf who doesn’t have all the characteristics, the Pack will eventually fall. It’s only happened twice that I know of, and both Packs ended up with all its members either dying or becoming rogue.

I started to pace as I thought of a way to get Adam to love me.

There is only one solution I can think of.

“Hey Adam” I said as I saw him standing by his locker, all alone.

“Oh, hey, Katie” he said with  smile that did crazy things to my body “Do you need something?”

“Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something important” I said softly.

“Sure. What do you want to talk about.”

“Can we talk in the woods,” I asked him. Seeing his hesitation, I quickly added. “Look, it’s very important, and it can only be done in the woods.” Seeing the desperation in my eyes, he quickly agreed.

“So, what do you want to talk about?” he asks me as soon as we entered the woods.

“It’s about Amethyst” I said in a rush. “She’s been lying to you this whole time.”

Seeing his confused, bewildered face, I begin to explain.

Hopefully this won’t backfire on me.
