Chapter 34

Amethyst’s P.O.V

It has been three weeks since I humiliated the Alpha. Five weeks since I have spoken to either Katie or Lucas. And five weeks since Adam began to avoid me.

But he can’t avoid me any longer.

Looking around me, I make sure nobody, especially Katie, is looking while I reach an arm out   and pull Adam into the empty classroom. Earlier today, I grabbed Adam’s planner and hid it somewhere where I knew he wouldn’t find it. Knowing that he needs it since he has important papers inside, I waited as he went inside the school to look for it as the rest of the population practically ran out of the school to begin the weekend.

“What the-“

“Adam we need to talk” I tell him. “It’s important.”

As soon as he sees me, his eyes harden. “What do you want?” he sneers at me.

“What did Katie tell you?” I ask him.

For a second he looks confused  before the sneer falls back on his face. “Unlike you, she told me the truth. I know what you are. She told me everything there is to know about werewolves, and even shifted to prove it. I also know that she is my soul-mate, I know that you are a liar, and I know that you have been using me this whole time.” He tells me, and though he tries to hide it, I can see the hurt in his eyes.

“Is that all she told you?” I asked him with a sigh.

“Yes.”

Closing my eyes, I ask him “Do you want to hear my side of the story or do you believe and follow Katie blindly?”

He stares at me for a second. “How do I know you will tell me the truth? How do I know you won’t just make up lies to get me to trust you?”

“Look, I’m just going to tell you my version of events and whether you believe me or not is up to you. Heck, you can even ask Katie whether some of the stuff I tell you is true or not.”

Taking a deep breath, I begin. “The first thing you should know is that I am a half breed. My father was a werewolf, but my mother was a human. They were Mates, and were completely in love.” I tell him with a soft smile on my face as I remember all the pictures my father had shown me of the two of them together. In all the pictures, they were looking into each other’s eyes with adoring looks on their faces. My smile gets wiped off my face when I remembered how the Alpha took the pictures from me after my father’s death. Every time I would ask for them, I would get a beating. After a while I just stopped. “My mother died during childbirth.” I told him as my voice and face both became void of any emotion.

“For a while I felt guilty for taking her life, but my father made sure to always tell me that my mother loved me and would do anything for me. He made sure that I always felt loved. When I was eight, he died. Some…evil, I guess you could say, werewolves attacked our Pack and  my father died protecting me.” I hated seeing the pity in his eyes, but I ignored it as I continued my story. “Since my father died protecting me, I was blamed for his death. You see, my father was like a brother to the Alpha. They had been best friends for years and were practically raised together. When my father died, the Alpha blamed me and made sure everyone knew it. Being the Alpha, it is in a wolf’s nature to follow their example and do all they can to prove themselves to him. Because of this, everyone else began to treat me like sh*t, too. It started out small. They would yell at me, insult me, make me feel as if I were nothing. But over time life for me got worse.
