~Chapter 21~

Lucas P.O.V (Before he sees Amethyst)

Today members of the Dark Arrow Pack were going to come. My dad that they would be able to help us with the problems we’ve been having, but I think it’s a bad idea. We didn’t need another Pack’s help. We were once known as the strongest Pack in the U.S, but now we are near the bottom of the food chain. While we’ve become weaker, the Dark Arrow Pack has become stranger. They have also gained many allies, some of which were European Packs.

They would be coming today, and I hated it. It made me feel weak knowing that we needed someone’s help. My father thought that it was necessary, and since he is still Alpha, it was his decision.

My father wouldn’t stop bothering me about finding my Mate. I was 18 and mate-less. This is unheard of. Most Alphas find their Luna when are about 15-16 years old. I was going to have to find a replacement for Amethyst soon. I couldn’t let my dad me Alpha for much longer.

No! I want Mate, and no one else.

As usual, my wolf, Ryder, wouldn’t stop bothering me. Every time he heard his Mate’s name he would come out, but if I needed him, he stayed quiet. He was a traitor and I was starting to hate him. Why couldn’t he be on my side? He should know that it wasn’t my fault; she was the one who was too weak. Goddess, my wolf is selfish. He doesn’t care about anyone but his Mate. If someone says something bad about her, it takes all my control to restrain him. Once, when Noah mentioned her name and said he was glad to be rid of her, I almost attacked him. Ryder took control for two seconds before I was able to stop him. I was so glad Noah was all the way across the room. I would hate to have hurt him.

Son I need you to come outside  my dad mind linked me.

Coming, dad I quickly replied before jogging outside.

As I quickly make my way outside I could feel my wolf’s happiness and love, but I had no idea why. I hadn’t felt him this happy in years. He was usually angry, upset, or just ignoring me.

What’s going on? Why are you acting like this? I asked him, but as usual, he ignored me. As soon as I stepped outside, I was able to gain control of my body.

“Dad, is the Pack here yet?” I asked as I stepped through the door.
